the streets look pretty clear here, so if that keeps up, I might should be there.

I heard that the further north you go, the worse it is.. just like the last storm. I don't know if it still is, but Powers was closed from the airport to Fontaine earlier.

Looking at the traffic cameras, the roads are wet. So later, after the sun goes down it's going to be ice again.

I've been out all morning too but that does not meant he roads are fine...lol

People are driving like fucking idiots out there and the roads are shit.  Lindsey and I helped a dude get unstuck this morning and he ate shit just standing on the road.  It was like an ice skating rink.  (of course we laughed at him)   :giggle:

I will make it...or at least attempt it.  The route I take is all major roads so they should be cleared!  Red Robin sounds like a plan

We just got home from work and the main roads are fine. No worries. Just stay away from drifts and side roads.

I just spent about two hours digging the Tacoma out of three feet of snow.  Every time I tried to get up the driveway I slid further down with the slope of the hill.  The neighbors tractor ended up pulling me out.

We drove all over yesterday and today, but that was in the city... up north towards Monument it gets fucked.

at the last gtg I was at someone had a laptop and was doing something involving deleting codes out of the car's computer. I don't know what it's called but if someone happens to bring their laptop and could do that to my jetta it would be much appreciated, I will also pay whoever does it if they want money for it.

no, I just wanted to git rid of coeds like the seat belt alarm and the daytime running lights. I posted a little late though so I will just have to shoot for next weeks gtg, also I am still not sure what a vag-com quite is.

There is a port in you car (mkIIIs are in the center I think - under the HVAC controls) where you plug it into the computer - then you have a program (vag-com) that will "talk" to your car to pull the codes and it allows you to clear them (most the time).  You can see other specifics (like what it is idiling at, the air/fuel I think, etc).

But the two things you mentioned... the seatbelt alarm and the daytime running lights - what "codes" are you throwing for them?

Hes not throwing any codes... he wants his code modified so that it doesn't do those things... alot of people do that.
For the daytime running lights, you dont do it via the vagcom... you do it via the light switch.  Just pull your switch, take a piece of electrical tape and put it over the pin in your light switch that says "TFL" .  That will take care of that issue.

FOr the seatbelt, you need to pull the vagcom code you want me to enter and I'll do it.  I dont know them off the top of my head.

is it dangerous to delete codes you don't know? I mean are there codes that the computer pulls up that the car needs to run? Those two were the only things I could really think of to get rid of, I am not sure what other types of codes are in that computer. Is there anywhere on the internet that lists these codes or is it something you don't know is on there until you plug in the computer and look?

Go to www.vwvortex.c om and then go to the vagcom forum.  In there do a search for the codes you want.  Its basically modifying the code of the ecu or the gauge cluster.

Its not really going in and deleting anything its just making the ecu run a seperate "code" for the seatbelts, etc.  I wouldn't be willing to just delete shit in your ecu.  Thats why im saying find out what code you need and what it does and I'll hook it up.
