Hi Everyone,

New member here - found out about the forum through SETuning.

I live in Colorado Springs with two VAG cars - I drive a 2002 Audi TT ALMS Edition in Misano Red and my wife drives a 2004 Volkswagen Touareg in Offroad Gray.

Looking forward to contributing.

Thanks - here are a couple pics of the TT:

Right after I got it and my first coats of Zaino  :

The interior.  The ALMS edition with the Misano Red exterior has a two tone interior with "Silver" (read: light gray) leather:

And my first SOLOII autocross (at World Arena) - I basically figured out I'm not as good of a driver as I thought.  I came in something like 123rd out of 137  :-(

On a positive note, I was on all season tires then and I still beat 14 other cars (one a C5 Corvette and one a C6 Corvette).  It was a blast and I would highly suggest it to anyone - not too hard on your car and little risk of anything bad happening.  I'll be at the next race on January 14th at the PPCC Centennial Campus - if anyone else will be there let me know!

Some of the Touareg looking out over Garden of the Gods right after we got it (and after its first Zaino'ing too  ):

Right on.  We've been TT-less for... well... since 2002.  :P  (Right?)

Welcome to the club.  Roll on out to a GTG so people can put a face to a car to a screen name to a name.  It's a lot to remember.

As the "New Member Greeter", it is my pleasure to Welcome you to the club....

You're in for a ride..... Thanks for not making your first post a "for sale" post. That kind gesture will go a long way around here.

Nice looking cars by the way.... my wife loves the Toureg's and I'm an avid fan of anything car that is made in Germany!!

What ever you do, don't piss off Barry, He'll threaten to kick you in the nuts. That is, if he can swindle his way out the house (by claiming to get pizza or go to King Soopers).
Additionally, you'll notice that just about everyone here has some sort of a sense of humor (albeit a few people are very sarcastic and have a plethoric amount of cynicism)....

Welcome, ALMS TT's rock!

Thanks - it took forever to find one, especially with low miles in good condition.  I was really lucky and ended up actually finding one in the Springs that had been driven by a 50 year old woman.  The car was mint inside and out except she had curbed every wheel  :-(  But, that is easily fixable.

I'll definitely have to make it out to a GTG.  Probably not in the next few weeks, but hopefully soon.

Yeah, its pretty fun, especially when you start keeping track of how many cone's Nickle tags on each run...

That was one of the first tips I got - if you aren't knocking down any cones, you can go faster

That, and smooth and steady is almost always faster.

The hardest part I had with the TT was keeping it on boost.  I had to make several first gear downshifts - if I had stickier tires I think I would have been able to keep it on boost without going to first.

Doesn't the K03 make boost at idle? lol j/k ;)

Actually, that brings up an interesting question and a good opportunity for me to learn (I'm fairly new to FI engines) - what is the difference between a K03 and a K04 turbo?  I believe the 225TT has a K04 while the 180TT has a K03 (I also know the 225 has slightly different engine internals and dual intercoolers mounted in the fenders, but I'm betting the K04 makes the biggest difference).
