These are interesting... a few days ago I saw the same thing for BBS wheels..can't find the pic now.

Quote
The wheel fans enhance brake cooling by drawing additional cooling air through the wheels and across the brake rotors.  This is a matched set of four, with two for deep offset Fuchs (7" 911, 9" 930) and two for shallow offset Fuchs (6" 911, 7" 930, 8" 911/930).  All of the accessories shown are included, including four centerlock threaded lock rings, four centerlock hex nuts, and a centerlock socket, that works with any standard 1/2" socket driver, as shown.

Jimmy, these are not about fashion they are about FUNCTION... I know you have trouble with that sometimes Mr. VR6A4, but a majority of the rest of us understand the purpose and appreciate the concept, thanks for playing.

I see it as a nice set of tits in a form-fitting sweater.  They are covered up, but still there and still stare-inducing.

ok let me rephrase...
if you have a car that would require them
i.e.

then they are all about function and make perfect sense....
but,

BUT,
if you put them on a street car
i.e

where there is NO WAY IN HELL YOU WILL EVER REALLY NEED THEM, then you are gayer than the ricers with their FWD cars w/ 3' spoilers...
so like i said they are UBER :gay:

thanks for playin....

So the stupid fucking deep dish wheels you put on your A4 were all about function then?  Not style?  Knock it off.  These things are rare and cool.  Woudl I rock them, maybe not, but doesn't mean I don't appreciate them.

no, i never said the brocks were funtional, other than being round,
they were as un-functional of a wheel/tire combo for my a4 i could have gotten, BUT they looked pimp as shizzel.... ya dig.

these wheel fans, hold no street function what so ever, but as Nappy said "they are for function, not style".

***stylistically
the wheel fans aren't stylish [other than being rare(?)] they are ugly, bolted on HUBCAPS!
they are hubcaps, and hubcaps haven't been popular since the early 80's, if you rock them for style why not go and get some spinna hubcaps while your at it, it would be essentially the same thing.

***functionality...
brakes designed/used for racing are designed to work best at high temps, temps you would never even get close to on the street, race cars are still subject to brake fade if their brakes get TOO hot. so at 180mph these would be an ideal solution to keeping your brakes at optimal temps without creating fade. with proper application of functionality i do appriciate them.

so again if you need, NEED them  for functional reasons, then rock them
if you dont NEED them, and can  get zero-benifit from their "functionality" then you have wasted your cash on gayness.

BUT, wasting cash is what you are into go ahead and give me $50.00 and i'll give you a good ol' fashon swift kick in the nuts....lol

***notice: this is based on my oppinion, and is just my .02, so their is no need to get pissy****

Ah, you're right.  I see them as stylish as well, being race-derived, but to each their own.  In Fountain they would probably be used as a door stop or Nacho dip-plate.

some of us are old enough to remember seeing these on race cars like the audi quattros in the 80's. some of us also race our cars, so there could possibly be some function to them as well. i know i can hit about 80 mph on the back stretch of second creek, and my car isn't fast, then there is a tight right-hander at the end of the straight, then quite a few sharp turns after that, so i could see your brakes getting quite hot it you do it right.
