Sherri is coming over to use my VAG-COM so I thought I'd post up to see if anyone else needs to. It's set for 5pm Thursday at my house. There's plenty of bars around so we can get a cold one afterwards. PM me if you need directions.

It's a cable that conects your car's computer to your laptop. I know you can change a crap load of things in a MK5 and a fair amount of things in a MK4. I'm sure there's some things on a B5/5.5 passat that can be messed with too. It'll work with Audi's but I've never looked into what can be done with it.

Outside of that you can monitor how well the engine is running and log all of the information. You can also scan the computer (All OBD-II, 95[?] and up) for fault codes that will turn on the check engine light(CEL). Oh, and 2003 and older TDI's need them to check/adjust timing. :mrgreen:
