AT&T/Cingular

Ok...this joint merger has officially pissed me off to no end. AT&T's customer service was bad, but holy shit, the merger caused ignorance....T hey are on my shit list!

Brahma: I am hoping to find a better answer than I did on my OgO
POET: To Brahma Hi P Welcome to Live Tech Support Chat P
Brahma: hi there
Brahma: ok so I talked to a rep from my Ogo and was told that it can take SMS and IM's up to 72 hours to be sent and recieved by another person, please tell me this is a bad joke
POET: To Brahma this is the case
POET: To Brahma they are gurateed to be delivered within 72 hres
POET: To Brahma hrs
Brahma: the wierd thing about it is that I have 2 Ogo's side by side
Brahma: one is working in a timely manner...the other is taking upwards of 4 minutes to send and longer to recieve
POET: To Brahma Try turning your device off wait about 30 seconds then turn your device back on. this will re-register your device on our network
Brahma: did that
Brahma: I never had any issues with the Ogo till I canceled the service and then a month later had it reactivated.
POET: To Brahma Then nothing else can be done other then to be patient
Brahma: could it possibly be a sim issue or maybe a device issue?
POET: To Brahma most likely not
Brahma: could you explain why those two items are not likely?
POET: To Brahma if it was either the process wouldnt work at all
POET: To Brahma not be delayed
Brahma: I was told by several reps that I would need a new sim, until I took the device to the Cingular/AT&T store...where the manager reactivated it. Is it possible that since it is the same sim card that there is some sort of issue?
POET: To Brahma nope
POET: To Brahma its the nature of text messges they can sometimes be delayued
Brahma: but in all theory if one is being delayed, the network would be the reason for the delay and all messages would be delayed correct?
POET: To Brahma nope
Brahma: ok so we have eliminated the OgO, the Sim, The Network...what could it be then?
POET: To Brahma simple delays
POET: To Brahma they happen
Brahma: but every day on the same OgO? Not effecting my fiance's OgO or any of my friends in the same area?
POET: To Brahma then take it into a tsore and have them test it in another ogo
POET: To Brahma store
Brahma: I have to admit that this has been the most frustrating support I have ever had on any device. But I thank you for your honesty. I would suggest that not only the instor sales but technical support be educated on the products they sell and serve. Thank you for your time

I haven't had any issues with AT&T/Cingular - nice to have so many people "free" to call... Hope I get the rollover minutes soon too.

Yeah, I looked into the OGO and decided against it because of problems similar to the ones you are experiencing. I guess the protocols they are using randomly cause the network to think they are waiting on specific packets of data before completing the transmission, and those packets do not actually exist, so until the server (or whatever is processing the mesage) times out or gets another random packet to bust it loose, it just hangs up and does not send.

I will wait for V2 or 3 before I get one....
