Howdy all... we are headed down to the sand dunes this weekend (near Alamosa)...

We plan to be leave Friday after work (might not be til like 6ish - depends when Cox and Boner get off work) and stay through Monday.

Feel free to come all or a mixture of those days...

We are taking the trail there, but if your vehicle won't make it you can take the road and we can meet ya there.

I think we have me, carlos, brandon, sara, nick, swank, barb, cox and boner...

Let me know if you are interested and I'll make sure you know where to be and when.

I'm ready to camp again.  I am going to put in for Friday off to make it a 4 day weekend.  Then I can prep for camping while my babe is at school working her ass off so were ready to go early..  I hate (HATE) trying to rush and get everything ready for a camping trip.  Remember its that time of year again when it can be cold at night so bring extra blankets or someone to cuddle with. ;)

Rub it in asshole.  Maybe I'll just contact that girl you linked me from Myspace.  She IS single.

Brandon has Friday off as well... if one of you could source wood that would be great... the pallets that Greg and I got that one time from The Cyclist worked pretty well...

I am working a half day Friday... going to lift and then I will be free (starting around like 1:30/2ish - depending when I can leave here)...

Well there is still a large pile of wood at my old place we can use.  It should burn very well.

How long of a drive is it???
Does anyone have an extra tent for Kelly, I and the kids????
You say take the trail, will my LandRover make that okay????

Love to try and come, but need more details. Kelly and the kids have never been camping, this would be great fun.

If anyone has a flat bed 10' x 10' I can get a generator and bring the Hot Tub

Will people be bring thier quads/dirtbikes or is this just a cool place to camp?  Would love to join the group sounds fun.  We were talking about going camping this weekend also, but a group thing sounds much better.

Does it cost? Can you have a camp fire or what is the limitations of having a fire?  Do you have to make reservations? How far of a drive is it?

Okay, I tried to look things up. It seems that if we have a large group then we should make reservations due to the holiday weekend. It is around 170 miles from the Springs. (Correct me if I'm wrong).
What are you guys going to do there all day and night. Haven't been since I was a kid, but I can't remember what there is to do.
Food, Grillen, Drinks ???????
Do you bring tents or is this a cabin style facility.

Help Lindsay!!!

We are gonna try to bring our bikes (bicycles) if there is room, but if I had a quad/dirtbike I would be ALL OVER THIS!

I don't think it costs... haven't been down there before to camp, lemme find a link.  The road to Alamosa is like 2 - 2.5 hours if I remember right, but that was on school buses... haven't been since high school.

Ok... 163 miles from C-Springs... http://www.alamosa.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=standard&categoryId=13&subCategoryId=2

I think where we camp will determine if there is cost involved... here is the link to the different areas and the associated cost...

http://www.alamosa.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=standard&categoryId=8&subCategoryId=1 and my guess would be the first one, "Great Sand Dunes National Park" but that is a 100% guess.  When Carlos gets home he'll know exactly...

I have a whole shit load of wood.  Some of it is ready to use and some is from taking down my old decking and would have to be broken down.  Yeah I am excited.  I will have to be a bore though and work some on homework depending on how this week goes.

we aren't going to camp inside the park... there are a few places off of the medano trail to camp at near the entrance to the park.  Im going to coordinate w/ cox later this week and get more details for those that will come later... hopefully cells work down there, if not we'll have cb and gps could find out the exact location and get to reception and call...
