Its all common sense bullshit. I really with we'd get some of the nice diesel econo cars that Europe has. Like I said before... if Renault sold cars in america, I'd be first in line to buy one. I was uber impressed with the performance of their cars.

Glad I have the 8v. I pay $20 a week in gas, and its great! (BTW, i drive 265 miles a week just in my commute).

Good news... if gas prices go up, Touareg prices will come down!  :o

In Europe, fuel tax can amount to more than 75% of the price at the pump. Comparatively, gas taxes in Canada represent approximately 40% of the price at the pump, with variations between provinces and territories. In the U.S., the tax percentage is only 12.5%.

Yep, small turbo diesel tech is amazing.  I have said it before and I will say it again, vegetable oil is plentiful, cleaner and totally usable in Diesels right now.  With a few VERY minor changes, it can be 100% usable from the factory vehicles.   Distribution would be the only next step, & I don't see that as a big hurdle.

That should be my next mod: Turbo VR6 putting down 300whp with vegetable oil.
