luckily i was close to an air force base when this happened. i limped over to the auto hobby shop on base yeserday and pulled the wheel. i was pretty nervous about what i was going to find because i could hear rubbing from the wheel and the brake warning light on the dash was on. it wasnt that bad though. when the chain let go, it sliced the wire that goes to the caliper and senses when the pads are worn. the shield behind the rotor was bent and rubbing against the outside disk, not the actual braking surface. so i soldered the wire back together and bent the guard back into place and i was back in buisness.
in other news...i was chasing cars on my bike in the rain yeserday. some kid ran into the street and the car laid on is brakes. i had no idea what was happening because my glasses were fogged and covered with water. i slid on the front wheel for a bit and then had a close encounter of the auomotive kind. it wasnt that bad though and i even managed to stay upright.
remind me never to listen to greg again when he tells me how nice northern california is.
