There is a state farm rep comming to look at it on thurs to see if its worth fixing. I calculated it out and they are pricing it off of an S4 worth 12,300...supposedly the guy that comes out is going to see if he thinks its worth more then 12,300 and will have the decision by late friday or monday. *Update*

Well, finally talked to my parents about the whole deal...they were more concerned about my and passengers safety and were happy to hear that everyone was alright. I told them what I've done to try and fix the situation and my dad was pretty happy, also, he wasn't concerned if this affected the other cars on their plan which was def something that I was concerned about.

Additionally, I found that State Farm deemed the car worth fixing so it will be getting fixed and not declared totaled!!!!!!! I can't begin to tell you how happy I was to hear this. I'm gonna stop by RN tomorrow and see if I have to give them authorization to begin work and order the parts, etc. so hopefully that will go well. Anyways, I just wanted to pass this info along. Thanks again for all the responses, PM's, etc...I truly appreciate it! :beer:

great news, now if you want to do mods, buy aftermertket parts, euro oem stuff or whatever (which you should) have the insurance cut you the check. You buy the parts you want and bring them to the body shop. You also write the body shop the check for the labor. ;-)

tel state farm you dont have the money for the deductable, they will give you a check for the repairs. deposit it, wait for it to clear. then order the RS4 bumper, Rs4 SMICs, and some used coilovers.

RN won't buy the aftermarket performance or euro stuff.
once you ahve the parts in hand take them to RN and then have them start the repairs....goo d luck.

oh and drop your deductable to 100.00 the cost/ month differance will be about 5.00 more per month for the lower deductable

brandon and i looked into geting the euro parts and aftermarket stuff. there is no upgrade aftermarket part for the suspension that is broke, and oem RF SMIC is less than 400 bucks, and the bumper has to have the rebar suports which is included in the brand new oem S4 bumper (600 bucks!!!!!)and NOT included in the RS4 bumper........ .....

there very little upgrade he can do unless he plans to shell out a little bit more right now :cry:

BTW just for some clarification, the insurance wasnt valuing the veh at ~12k, that was their break point for total vs repair, had it been totalled your payout would have been much higher.

What they look at is how much they think they can part out the rest of the vehicle for.

I.E. if they know that the car is worth 18k, but the parts on the car that arent fucked can be sold for ~6k, they will total it if the cost of repairs goes over 12k. Thats a general idea, the numbers tend to be different, but you know the drill.

BTW an OEM RS4 bumper will not fit properly on an S4, the RS4 bumpers had wider fender flares as well as different supports and mounts. What you would want to find is an RS4 replica, then it will match your flares etc.

Nickle, i tend to agree with you on the whole you're not driving an RS4 bit, but, if i were to go out and get the same parts as an RS4, i.e. K04 turbos, intercoolers, etc, you can bet your ass i would put that bumper and an RS4 badge on it.

I really can't see why audi never made a b5 RS4 sedan either, but thats another story altogether...

As much as I'd like to do all these suggested upgrades and shit, as Zach said, nothing that was damaged is really upgrade-able. The bumper could be upgraded to the RS4, but I really want to keep the exterior looking as stock as possible. I could upgrade the SMICs but the ones that I want to upgrade to are 1100 and I can't front that much dough right now...next year I'll be able to!! Also, they had already ordered the parts so there was no way I could get the check and shiz. In the long run, I'll just be happy to get my car back then go from there...thanks everyone!!

Figured I'd give another update...car has been painted and assembled. They took the car on a drive and found that the steering rack was fucked so they have to fix that...should be done on the 14th or 15th. Anyways, thats it...desert is hot as fuck, but i'm managing. Along those lines.. I've spent about two years of my life in the Southwest Asia region.. and now living in Arizona I've got to the point where 100+ degree heat doesn't really phase me much anymore. Obviously I know it's hot as hell but I guess my tolerance level is much higher now.
