Colordo Kordd has done it again!

I remember last year being shocked to see the burgandy cabby transformed to an amazing mix of white primer and wood bits with little money and alot of imagination. Well this year I got to be a part of what seems to be a yearly occurance in the ever evolving Cabriolet. With a paintbooth made out of plastic in his garage and some determination or craziness, I can't tell which, the car has been transformed to what can only be described as "SIIIICK"! The color is called Calypso Green. Not blue, not silver, but green, the color of Money. If you can't tell from the picture then you have to see it in person to truely appreciate the beauty of this color. Being involved this weekend with this endevor is what makes me so devoted to this hobby and why I look forward see what other creations come out of this club.

This is the grin on Kordd's face after putting the wheels on today.

This what the car looked like just 2 days ago! Unbelivable!

Kordd has himself one beautiful paint job now.  It's amazing what three people can get done in relatively no time at all!

I think he said they came off of an Omni. It looks pretty good in the pics. How many coats of paint are on that car now?  :P

There is 4 coats of color and 3 heavy coats of clear.

Oh, I just realized what you are asking.

Then that would be what I mentioned on top of the original red, covered by who knows how many coats of burgandy, plus a coat of primer white. So that would make alot of coats.

When the body and paint crew is done with Kordd's car, would it be asuming too much for me to ask with help on mine? I knew what I was going to do up until last week, but I am getting other ideas now. Might have to save the satin black-out project for another (later year GTI?) car...

That's freaking sick man.  I remember the color looking a lot greener in person.  Even then, that's a sick little ride you got there bud.  Good call on the wheels.  Those are the perfect match up for the car.
