i believe porsche bought 15% of VAG and it was to prevent a take-over from the likes of daimler/chrysler (mercedes and porsche don't mix - long story).

actually, i was wrong, it was up to 20%.

I thought so, that's all I ever read (and I try to stay abreast of Porsche developments).

So, I talked to the owner of the Creamsicle 914. Turns out it is a genuine 1974 CanAm LE car. The owner knows exactly what he has, and he got it from somebody (who obviously wasn't aware that their 914 was worth about $13,000) in trade for - get this - a Corvair engine.

not that i would have a corvair engine sitting around but..... i'd love to have something like that happen to me.
