Nate and Kordd are going to hook up a few pimp ass aircooled shots tomorrow morning, but I figured it was an opportunity to get some glamour shots for everyone. This is your chance to get those shots the album Nazi has been asking for... total cost? The gas it takes to get you there.

Meet us on North Highway 83 as it exits Colorado Springs at about 6:00 am and expect to be there for roughly an hour.

It was a spur of the moment thing based on info given to me by Nate. Sunrise was mentioned... hence the time. We could also follow this with a coffee shop GTG for those who want to skip the shoot but still do something. I vote for 7:30 or so at Pikes Perk (downtown).

dawn and dusk has the least 'harsh' light. photo 101. otherwise believe me i wouldn't be getting up this early. oh and i'll be gone tomorrow evening so morning is the only option. we'll go grab some yummy grub afterwards.

That's old school photo 101. With digital, my worst pics are when there is less light.

I'll be there anyway. I want to see what is so great about sunrise light and listen to you and Kordd discuss apatures and shutter speeds like it makes a fucking difference. Unless you are using film, which won't do any good unless it is for prints.

this is funny. I spent the entire summer on car photo shoots with professionals who get paid lots of money and we were never up before noon. I was up at the crack of dawn for the photo shoot on my car a couple years ago, and none of those pics made it into the mag cause the ones in the afternoon looked better...

It's all about the shade fellas, but have fun.

James, you can make every single setting change on a digital camera that you can regular film camera, but that would require you to read the manual or have a cluepon prior to getting the camera. ;-) ;-)

Yeah Nate, That's a good idea. I might dust off the old film camera myself.

I just like being able to view my pics on the spot and know whether I need to take another one rather then use a whole roll and get 3 or 4 that I'm happy with. Ya know?

I know very little about photography, but I do not know that most "modern" digicams can handle just about anything a regular camera can.

no one who gets paid to take pics uses film much at all anymore. Maybe for fun or nostalgia but not for the real deal. A top end digital SLR does everything any film cam ever did only better.

Well, we stood around for 45 minutes freezing our asses off waiting on Kordd to show up. Then we drove to Douglas County only to have his batteries die after about 1 minute of shooting so I had to give him mine.

Then we waited for him to screw around with all of his camera settings since they were apparently not set correctly, tried one more pass, waited on more settings changes, tried another pass while pissing of traffic on 83 and then took a few still shots. All the while the VOCS guys were getting more and more angry about the whole thing. After 3 passes they left pretty pissed off. Two of them joined us for breakfast at IHOP and got to watch Kordd, Nate and myself argue about flyers and printing.... it was a great morning.

Oh and I have no idea how the pics turned out, but Kordd said he will need hours of photoshop work to get them "right."

Sounds like Kordd wanted to feel important. I hope some of the pics don't have Kordd's EXTREME angle. Those pics are hard to see.
