Yeah I was reading on that too.  Did you see that one tech thread where you just hollow out the precats and then use those sparkplug spacers to keep the first o2 sens from throwing cel's?

that DUH front mount is sick.  i would take that over the sidemounts anyday.  a guy (called the_SUN) on audiworld dynoed his with a DUH front mount and had gains of 40+ horsepower.  it is an expensive FMIC but if you want huge performance gains for intercooling then that is the way to go.  Used ones are hard to come by so if one does come up for sale they go quickly!

I'd guess that by removing it from direct contact with the exhaust stream that it get a reduced signaland that tricks it into thinking the precat is still functioning.  But your guess is as good as mine.
