Glad everyone had a good time - would have been fun to go.

Some things I have learned -
1.  It is very easy for peoples panties to get in a bunch over dyno HP #s.  It will always be a sore point.

2.  Different dynos read VERY differently.  Superflows are notorious for reading low, or accurate, depending on who you are speaking it to.  Dynojets are notorious for reading high.

3.  Dynos, flowbenches, and any measuring tool that is a complex system with correction factors for temperature and pressure are going to be very difficult to get to read the same as a different version of the same.

4.  Take your numbers for what they are - an opportunity to learn more about dynoing and your car.

My opinion, those numbers are way too high.  It is completely impossible for a stock car to make more horsepower at the wheels, than it is supposed to make at the crankshaft.  That is ridiculous to me.

Dyno operators can, through ignorance, or wanting to post high numbers, really, really influence the output.  Messing with a temperature sensor on a Dynojet made a stock Yamaha FZR600 make 195hp.

Correction factor for a naturally aspirated car, vs. a turbocharged, cs. a supercharged car are supposed to all be different.  Arguing about whether transmission losses are 9% or 13% are silly.  Good dynos can usually coast down and measure driveline losses for each car.  Each cars transmission can be different.  Saying all fwd or rwd or whatever are the same is also silly - yes, we often need a rule of thumb, but if I have straight-cut gears, spool differential and synthetic fluid and someone else has helical cut gears and non-synth oil, the losses will be very different.

My point?  Have fun hanging out together and learn from this.  Arguing over numbers is just that.  Make your car faster and play with it.  What I want to do is dyno before and after mods to see the relative change, not the absolute number.

 :agree:

I know I can do high 12's in the 1/4 so how give a fock what hp a dyno says I have as long as it goes up the more mods I do.

yeah i had an awesome time haning out with everyone.  greg is totally right in the fact that arguing over numbers doesn't get us any where.  the thing that got me was picking up 20hp/20ftlb just by spraying down my ic.  that little extra boost will mask my poor drag racing abilities and hopefully get me into the 14's.

Yeah i wish the car could have been dyno'd before all the mods... that would have been cool.
I think I'll do that w/ the vr... whens the next dyno day?  LOL

Honestly, I'm not as concerned with the numbers I put down right now.  It's once I start modding that I want to see percent increases.

In theory, a mod will make a given percent increase over base regardless of dyno in use.  I making that statement based off the assumption that the error in a dyno is linear.  My point is that as long as i continue going to the same dyno for every run, I will see my mods pay off in percent increases, not overall numbers.  This is the reason I dynoed my stock A4.  I don't care what it put out as long as it puts down more next time.

which im sure it will do. However keep in mind that the 99's should have been boosting about 7lbs... yet you are showing 11 on your turbo timer...  you car could technically have a chip, or there is something else going on. Which would be a reason you dyno'd more than stock hp...
I dont think you car is as low as 124 hp...
Find out what head you have... for some reason i keep thinking you have an aeb...

not to beat a dead horse but i've been doing alot of looking around and my pre-nitrous-spray-on-the-intercooler figures are pretty typical of other cars sporting the same mods.  interesting...
