Title Traffic Accident Location 1800 block S. Hancock Ave.
Summary Sand Creek officers were notified of a injury traffic accident in the 1800 block of S. Hancock Ave. directly under the Circle Dr. overpass. Upon arrival officers discovered the driver of Vehicle #1 had died from his injuries.
The preliminary investigation shows Vehicle #1 (Acura Cpe) traveling westbound on S. Hancock Ave.in the left lane crossing over the double yellow dividing line into the eastbound left lane. Vehicle #1 struck Vehicle #2 (Chrysler mini-van) then Vehicle #3 (Ford pkup) which were traveling eastbound in the left lane of S. Hancock Ave.
Drivers #2 and #3 were uninjured. A male passenger in the front seat of Vehicle #1 was transported to Memorial Hospital with a non life threatening head injury.
Driver #1 has not yet been identified.
The investigation is continuing.
