Swank, this should be your goal...
« on: March 05, 2005, 09:22:19 AM »

A good friend of mine in Tampa builds and tunes 240SX turbo motors (Silvia Swap/SR20DET's). Last time I was down there we got in a discussion about the AFR curve and smooth it could be. He proved my point with some of his dyno charts. This one isn't his, its a customer's car, but I think you can get the idea. Seeing this pushed me to set new goals for myself as well.

And mine (which needs work):

That's some pretty impressive tuning.  What is he running for engine management?

He runs Haltec in his own car, but he does OEM chiptuning by mailorder... so that's off the factory ECU with his chip.

His own car put down 539whp on a stock bottom end.

I was too! This is a kid that failed out of Georgia Tech TWICE! Now he owns his own tuning business out of Tampa/Oldsmar.

Kinda makes me wonder why we all fuck with this german shit! haha

I always loved those cars. Too bad the engines weren't as good as the rest of the vehicle.

That is precisely why I got rid of the car about $2K worth of parts later, LOL

That is impressive.  I would love to own a Silvia and do a swap.  Except I think I would go for an RB26DETT.  But I could probably live with "just" 500 hp.  I remember my friend had a Starion/Conquest.  I gave him a set of Vise Grips and told him he should pinch his wastgate vacuum hose.  I told him it might blow his engine up but it would be really fast.  I met somebody that did that to his and ran it that way for a long time.  My friend wasn't so lucky.  His car hauled ass for about three days and then kablooey.  We laughed.  On a side note, did you know those were basically truck motors with a turbo?  Not exactly the best choice for a sports car.

y brother bought plans to build a spaceship out of vacuum cleaner parts, that thing is probably gonna work!  But Nappy can't even get his cars out of the driveway.

Yes that was one of the many things I learned about the car while I was working on it.  In a way I regret selling it because outside of the engine being jacked the rest of the car was in great shape.  Mine was an 89 with the wide body, black, with black leather.

Thought about doing that but, motor swaping is alot of work and were extra lazy, besides if I was gonna swap a 4G63 into something it would be a mighty max or a 2 door montaro.
