Lately I have not been a big fan of Rockford like I used to.  If you have the sub it will work and probably just fine.  If you need a 10" I am finishing Kord's install this sunday with his 2 10" memphis subs I got off ebay for $130 shipped (pair cost)

Save your pennies and get a Brahma or ID Max.  Fosgate blows.

Bah Kicker is just another speaker maker.

I would say a 10" sub in a sealed box.  Much simpler and much much smaller.

I agree.  Kicker used to be cool back in the day.  I had a couple 12s in my bug but the L7s are only popular because they are unusual looking.  There is much better out there for less money.  You can find deals on high end speakers on e-bay all the time.  I saw some super cheap Velodynes on there before.  You can get nice Focals or Morels on there for cheap too.  It just depends on what you are going for SQ or SPL.  Just get something with the right impedence for your application and then see what size box and how much power is recommended per manufacturers specifications .  It doesn't really matter if they are for a house or car as long as you know what to look for.
