damn, that is sexy as hell.  I seriously think that is the sexiest looking GT3 ever.  I want to make love to it right now.  In fact I am so turned on that I need a wet nap for my pants.

I find it amazing that people are complaining about its looks (on other forums).

every version of the 997 i've seen so far looks better than all the 996's. i like those wheels, just slightly different from the 996 gt3.

It's pretty much indisputable that the 997 is a better looking car than the 996.

there is no such thing as an ugly 911 to me but I agree that this is better than the 996, the front end is more 993ish which to me is the best 911 ever.  I'll probably have one after this stint in the desert (993 that is)

the 997 is perfection IMO the best looking 911 ever.

I have to agree with you on that Mike. For my money though, I'd buy a 964 Turbo first...

That's interesting because the 993 experienced a low sales volume which Porsche responded to with the 996... which they totally screwed up on.  I mean, nobody buys an $85,000 car just to have it confused with its $45,000 younger brother when looked at from the front.

In my opinion, the 997 successfully combined the styling and shape of the 993 and earlier models with the performance and reliability characteristic s of the 996.  That makes for a very sweet combination.  I happy to see the release of the 997.  I think Porsche got it right on this one.

couldn't agree more.

I'm no porsche guy by any means but I had no idea that the 993 didn't sell well.  Im my latest research (forums/ebay etc.) i've found that the 993's seem to hold their value much better than the 996's.  A nice 993 turbo is still 80K.

I dunno man there really isn't a 911 that I don't like.  The 996 is a wonderful looking car as well.  I just prefer the fat ass and raised front end of the 993 and the way that aircooler sounds.

I read in one of my dad's Porsche books that the 993 sales peaked early giving glimpse of a successful model generation, but fell off shortly after its first or second year.  I could be wrong about this.  Calculators have better memory then I do.

Nothing like a getting your ass handed to you by a car that sounds like it's in dire need of a tuneup.     I love the way the air-cooled 911's and 993's sound.
