I never had this problem before, on my 98 a4 1.8t Man. 150000 miles on it, the yellow check engine light came on, and it die's when you come to a stop??? any ideas?  anybody with a VAG willing to pull codes?  I just sold this car to my best friend iyesterday in Colorado Springs, and i really want to clear this up.  the car is located @ the ITT building now, and he lives off of powers and fountain.  Please call me @ 719-231-7252 if you can pull codes for me.

Thanks!

Pete

I just had a thought, i figured he might have put in 85 or 87 octane, so i asked him, he said premium, then i asked him what octane it was, he couldn't give me a firm answer.  would this cause these problems?  The motor revs to about 4k when he takes his foot off the gas pedal.

I don't think it'd cause problems this severe.

My Jeep has been doing the same thing lately.  I am pretty sure it is the Throttle Position Sensor.  Or maybe the cold air idle valve.

A Jeep has nothing to do with a Audi...

Pull the codes.. stop wasting time throwing darts in the dark.
