Im in the process of switching laptops so pics will be posted shortly.

Most of you know the car for those that don't here is the short story.  I searched the entire country for the cleanest late model MK2 GTI I could find.  A friend of mine told me about a car that "may be for sale" in Ohio.  It turns out I knew the car the owner and the history of the car. WE struck a deal because I remember that the car was so damn nice it made me cry.  WHen I first saw it it was a 16V, then 2.8.  I worked a motor deal as well into the package (long story)...It's a one owner (two counting me) as mint as you will find imo 1991 GTI. Tornado red, flawless inside and out.  I hit a deer with it on the way home from Ohio but the damage was only sheetmetal, it's fixed and better than ever.

Outside:

single round badgless grille
single round crystal clear headlights
french spec yellow fog lights
shaved us spec side side markers
color coded hatch plinth
uber rare hella US Spec half smoked half clear tails

chassis:

autotech hollow 28mm sways from and rear
uber duper rare eibach flat tower bar
eurosport rear tower bar
Koni fully adjustable coilovers
mint BBS RM's in factory finish and size
Corrado g-60 brakes with drilled and slotted rotors

Engine:

2.9 corrado storm from bottom to top
schrick 268 cams
schrick big valve head
bosal header
quaife limited slip diff
Techtonics MK2 VR swap exhaust 2.5 inch no cat (have TT high flow cat nib)
Corrado VR6 trans

interior:

perfect MK2 GTI 16v interior.  seats are flawless, headliner is flawless, carpet is flawless.

there is lots more and i'll edit as I think of it.  Everything on this car works and works correctly.  There is ZERO hack work in this swap.  Fully functioning MFA, cold A/C, cruise control, blah blah all corrado stuff so it fits factory.  This car runs and runs hard.  I would get in the car and drive to Alaska tomorrowand not ever once worry about anything.  Feel free to ask questions and I will edit as I think.  Pics up soon.

there is about 65K on the motor and 114K on the chassis, never been out of the garage by me or previous owner and always taken very good care of.

IMO as it sits is the ultimate example of an OEM plus Mk2.  Perfect condition inside and out with a big ass factory correct motor swap (had the factory ever offered it).

People - this is an amazingly clean car.  Sounds like the meanest VR6  I have ever heard in my life and is great fun.  Wish I could have ridden in it at sealevel, I can't imagine.

If you know someone looking for a top-notch, non-better A2, this is it.  Spread it around.

if i had a bigger garage that i could put this and my gti in, i'd seriously consider it, but i woudl just park it because i know mike would want it back at some point and i'd sell it back to him once the finances were straight for him.
Good luck mike, im sure it will go to a good home.

i'm not selling it for finances, i'm selling it to buy another car that I plan on buying soon and building when I get home.

something tells me we will find out soon... but you have an interesting progression of vehicles there mike... i always thought you couldnt do better than the b5, then you did it w/ the 20th... and while the a2 didn't get built you coudl still see the potential in it and how clean it was...
Needless to say if you say its better, then I'll take your word for it..

Not 100% sure, I thought London might be keeping it, but wait and he should post an answer on here sooner or later.

dont do it mike... its what you always wanted and then some.
I get on the fence of selling my mk3 sometimes to get into something newer or different but then i think of all the trouble i went thru to get the car and how hard it is to find one if i ever regret my decision. You wont find another one this nice if you did regret it!
