Other way around with Mk5 and the offsets for both are like 53 and 58.

They do share same platform more or less but vw changed to 5x112. Finding wheels has been difficult. I can't even consider adaptors unless I want mad poke or start pulling fenders.

you'd be ok w/ adapters... if you have an offset of 53, you have more to work with...

Yeah if I'm putting a WHEEL with 53 offset on a car with a 38 offset. When I have to start with a 58 (AUDI) offset and most any wheel out there with any kind of lip is 30 something offset then I have nothing to work with not more!!!
