Here is the monday (no work on president's day) update.

Head off the old bad compression motor.

Valve cover off donor motor.  Yes it is that clean in there..

Prepped the block for gasket prep spray.  Like my little cardboard cutouts to fill holes in block?



Head plate with new gaskets in place.



Head plate on, head back on with ARP studs.



How it looks now.  Still have to torque the nuts on studs because I need to buy a new 1/2" drive to 3/8" drive adapter for torque wrench.


I also put my new water pipe on and torqued the manifolds on.  Tomorrow if I get time I am going to swap oilpans, oil cooer, and oil filter housing and torque them bolts.  Then I need to put accessories on and swap the crank pulleys.

Nothing visible looking into bores.  I did not take the pistons out to look at lands and rings I don't have time for that now.  The walls looked good.  Head gaskets and surface looked good.  Valves look good.   I bet its rings and possibly lands.

My money is on the lands.  Mine were cracked and they didn't score the bore either.

Yeah I remember yours shown no visible signs of damage until pistons were pulled.

lol  Pros and Cons there.  In ohio my $140K house would have cost $90K but the place I worked at closed the doors.  Who knows if I would Have had the $ any faster than I did here.
