im still stuck in NJ, supposed to be in DC area. The show was great right up till the floods. I was driving an MK4 VR6 that now has a paperweight for a motor. Its a very long story and was a very long day. I personally witnessed no less than 8 hyrdolocked motors all in the exact same spot. They closed route 18, so we were stranded for over 7 hours on Englishtown road. I guess that's what we get for trying to beat the crowd and leave early. The only people I know whos cars aren't seriously damaged in one form or another are the people who waiting out the rain at the show. I didn't know we would get caught in a flood when the rain started or I would have waitied as well.
Anyway Jeff Bynum and Scott Mason were heros, after making their way back to the hotels they offloaded a car from Jeff's trailer, fought the floods for another hour just to get to us and load us up. We sat in the parking lot till 3 am trying to get it to the MK4 to run again, no dice. I was on the crank pully with a 3 foot breaker bar and the motors mounts were about to let go but the crank wouldn't turn. Water everywhere.
blah blah, can't even think straight. I'll post a full report next week when I get home.
The show was amazing, this season is the "year of the MK2" imo. I've never seen so many top notch MK2 show cars so Scott I wouldnt' feel bad about not placing. Jeff B and Scott M didn't place either, that was by far the toughest class. The contrast betweeen this show and the west coast is amazing. Let's just say Cali doesn't have shit on the east coast, when it comes to quality or quanity.
