something is very obviously messed up with my Taurus suspension so I went to see how it was put together and found this....

The springs (one front - one rear) on my Mercury Mystique were broken way at the top.

I suspect it was from using it a truck and hauling five big boxes of full-size hardcover books at a time.

However, the front springs at least were covered under a recall.

The rears were done where I used to work and it was a pain as some special tool is used by the dealerships that, being a VW - Audi shop we didn't have. Chains and brute force...

The mechanic refused to do the fronts and while looking up info ran across the recall for the front springs.

#11 is called an end link... it looks like plastic to me when you view the actual piece ont he car.

It is clunking like it has a bad bushing... the tire was also very worn, but the alignment seems good to me, so who the hell knows. I looked at it last night and did not see anything obvious... nothing shook with it in the air, but it was freezing so I was just wanting to get it over with!
