The BPY uses an 06x series block. The new CCTA (TSI) are a new engine family.

In other words, you can use the crank, rods, and block off of a 2.0 out of a mk4 with the head and pistons out of the 2.0 in your mk5. Your other option (if you have a spun bearing) is to get the crank turned and possibly the block line bored and use oversized bearings.

Go get that 8v block and run that. Take this one and turn the crank and get some h-beam rods.

Napa or BAP should be able to get you oversized bearings. If anything, whatever machine shop you use would be able to order you the correct bearings.

I'm gonna tell you now.... don't waste your time.

Just buy the short block Jeff listed, and be done with it.

Trust me. You dont want to try and rework an overcooked pig for a second roast.

Well... you heard it from me first....

I dont have experience or anything... lol

James... go back, and reference Mike's thread... you have the same three options.

Have you ever built a motor from the ground up, for boost?

It's not a $3500 bang up job bud.

$3500 gets you a good bottom end.... maybe

then you want a head that can handle the load, and then you're going to have to look at the autotragic trans, which will be the next weak point that blows up on you....

Go back to your factory setup, and a $400 shortblock... put your $3500 shortblock and BT setup on an engine stand, until you have everything from the oil pan to the tuning ready to go. Shit like this doesnt happen over night... It's not an instant gratification scenario, unless you are made of money.... which I know you're not.... because you're driving a VW ;)
