I have noticed there is like... minimal at best, things going on with you guys? I remember when I first came to COS you guys would sometimes do snowboard trips, the occasional drive and eat out at GTG's? Ive heard Jeff is pretty much the token GTG guy....

This saddens me. I really hope as the weather picks up 719 does also... I hate getting shown up by Denver clubs and hearing and seeing posts about all the stuff they do, even if they do hate each other sometimes.

I miss you guys!!!

Different time, different place. The few key members that had been around were still there at the time. Then they all got families and moved or something gay like that.

Would moving the GTG to another day work out better? Possibly a better time? Just wondering... There isnt anything wrong with doing it on a friday, then the people who wanna roll to Denver can do that thing too...

I know people get busy and wrapped up in stuff, just heard from a few of you guys that there isnt any point to go to GTG's anymore because nothing happens.

why dont you guys go up and surprise a Denver GTG, or even better yet why dont we crash the Summer Solstice drive June 21? (whatever day they plan it on)

I say we steal an idea from the Denver crew..

They pick a night to go eat (team hoodride) Set like once a month that the crew gets grub somewhere. Easier to plan if you have a couple weeks.

Didnt the old crew have and old Chicago night or some ish?

The old crew use to hit up bars after a GTG. I think Tuesdays use to be a pool night at Stix, but otherwise it was just random "Hey, I'm doing ____ tonight. Hit me up." things. I've been planning on doing some type of drive and another spring BBQ, but I've been waiting to see when the local shows are happening so I don't have to re-arrange schedules.

yeah back in 2002-5ish we used to meet up at the GtG hang out till about 730 go get dinner then the bars in force... as well as hit them up throughout the week etc.... we had poker nights... and about once a month someone would have some sort of BBQ or party... as well as hit the slopes on sunday's etc.

Pretty much. No body new really stepped in. I don't think many of the people around really habe any place they can use to host anything. I know I'd love to do a card night but my apartment is on the small side.

To be fair it wasnt a VW club. I just think maybe you guys could get together and organize a drive or even a monthly LARGE gtg. I know some people cant make it every week, but I think something planned BIG once a month would be great and it would give people a head's up.

Mix it up! Do a drive, do a bar night, do a eating night and then maybe some other activity. You could also plan a drive UP to Denver to invade one of the many clubs up there and see what they are doing to keep people's interest.

I just honestly want to come back and see a large group hanging out, hell there are plenty of VW people in the springs, and summertime is the best time of the year!

Our midweek GTG's back in the day were a LOT of fun! I can remember several $500 tabs at Old Chicago. We also had a pool night, and poker night (which didn't really last that long). If any of you guys has a club house in your apartment complex, go see what it would take to secure it one night a week and start something. It sounds like you bishes would be ripe for a sewing circle... lol

Another thing is only about 1/3 of the people that are in the E719 circle get on the forums.

I dont think the page is the problem, just need to do some things other than hang out, drink some coffee and then call it a night. At least aim for a better GTG once a month with some heads up so people can plan. It could even be on a sunday?

If there is someone who wants to take on the task of the website, I would be more than happy to give them access to the server. I am 36 hours from retiring from the Army and I don't have a job yet, plus I am taking 12 credtis worth of classes every 8 weeks so to say I am a bit busy is the understatement of the century.

Well i'm not there or i would be there like i was, and after living in Cali and now AZ the gtg's there were by far the best .. to many clickish types at the other ones i've been to or if you don't drive a MK4 or newer your a outcast

....

And we have one of the best pages out of any other group i've looked at.....
