I drained the cooling system, ripped the old rad out an decided whip I was at it id pull some other un wanted stuff. I pulled all the AC parts out. No need when the system isn't charged. I may put it in and getvit charged this summer. Pulled the head lights and grill off. Had some body work I had to do to the front end. Previous owner put a chain or rope through the front of the car and towed it that way. Straightened it all out and started to sand the paint down. Its pitted and chipped pretty bad. I've always wanted to put the germin flag on the front so what better time than now? Its just one of those things... you start a project and tear deeper and deeper and find more thong you want to do. Oh well. I haven't shown BUGS much love lately so its time I do! Freshen everything up and keep her clean! Maybe I'll enjoy the car more! Its depressing when your car is a piece. Wont be for long!!  8) I'll try to post some pics. I can't figure it out on here.

First off... make sure you close the ports for your AC condensor if you ever plan on using it again. cerran wrap and rubber bands will work. If you let mositure accumulate in the condensor becuase the high and low pressure lines are disconnected, it could ruin the compressor.

Secondly... Bugs??

The fist pic shows how nasty the front of BUGS looked. Chipped to shit and sorta stripped. Notice the center where it had been pulled out by the PO with a chain or rope. Beat that back into shape and through some mud on it.

Second pic is body primed and ready for paint.

The red took a shit load of paint. Very low coverage. Probably put like 6 real good coats on! If the weather cooperates I'll be spraying the yellow on. I plan on shooting a few coats of clear on to even it all out.

Beat ya to it!  ;D
here are the pins too. Id like to figure something else out with them though. My last rad cracked where they slip in. Not a very sting point. Any ideas? Thought about making some straps and bloting them to the front of the rad for extra support. Then up to where the pins bolt in.

Figured out the rad pin question. I just used a 20mm long bolt with a washer and two cone rubber bushings. Drilled them out and through them on. This way if the rad wants to move on a bumpy road or something it has a little pivot room! Fits snug but not to snug as to crack it!
