You can get a shortblock from a junkyard too. Depends on if your friend has time to scour the local yards, but you'd probably save a couple of hundred going that route.

ugh... you are deployed, you should be able to buy that in two months son! Quit drinking all that greenbean coffee.

Haha I feel ya. That site is super expensive but pretty cool stuff IMO.  You better have that car running when I get back. What wheels are you going to try and put on it?

I could buy that but I really don't want to. The tranny on the car right now is from there. Its a 1600 dollar tranny, should be fun, haha.

I really want to run some OZ Turbos, but I can't find a set for under 2k and that's a lil out of my price range. If worse comes to worse, I'll be a douchbag and run some BBS RS's. I already did a photochop with em, in the color scheme I would go with if I get RS's.

If anyone else has some wheel idea's throw em out there. I'll have about 1500 to spend on wheels, per diem is the tits, haha

Well I got more pictars of the build.

But we ran into some setback's and didn't get the car running.

Were not getting any spark. We replaced the crank position sensor, tried 3 different coil packs, tried different wires. But still a no go anyone have any ideas?

Pictars:

try swapping the plugs with the crank position sensor and the front knock sensor... the sensors should plug into the harness right next to each other... swap them, and key on...

The CPS and knock sensor are color coded, so hopefully the blue goes to the blue and the white goes to the white. Have you hooked up a VAG-COM to it yet? If it's throwing an error code that will narrow it down to what you need to look for. If it's not throwing any type of code then it's not seeing an RPM signal. If the CPS is new then it's either a faulty sensor or (sarcasm) the 60-2 missing tooth wheel fell off while you were rebuilding it (/sarcasm).

If you can't get a VAG-COM to communicate with the ECU check to make sure the ECU plug is seated, whatever chip you installed for the turbo is seated, and check to see if the ECU is getting power. You can try plugging in a known working ECU too.

No, Im back in CO and the car is still in PA. I got my buddy going up to my garage to check out a few things and to try and start it. I'll keep all posted.

Were pretty sure its ECU/Chip related. My buddy was in change of putting the chip in the new ecu while I was doing other things and we think he forgot to put the C2 plastic tower on the chip before he put the chip in.....thus that feels like our problem.
