Sorry for bringing up a dead topic.
The warranty issues between myself and Tynan's VW was a miscommunicati on between me, the service manger and the regional warranty manager. It has been laid to rest after all the facts have been put on the table.
As far as me and Emich goes, I have talked to Fred many of times since the "bug-in" incident. We talked about a future together and everything was moving forward. However, my boss at Tynan's was working at Lakewood Ford and asked me to come and work for him. So, I decided to do that and have succeeded here. Not to worry, I have been considering returning to VW in the near future!! The new Fords are nice, just missing the refinement of the German cars.
None of the above dictated anything about not having Oct'Dubber Fest in 2010. I had several offers from locations that wanted to host this event. The fact of the matter is that by the time I figured out what the plan was, it was too late and I could not get the ball rolling in time.
Finally, if I offended anyone because of my free spirit, willingness to always have as much fun as I can and to keep people safe, I am deeply sorry. I did start MetroDubs.com in July of 2005, went public in September of 2005. Since then we have always been open to all VW & Audi enthusiasts, supporting friends and family, local shops, local shows and even some great nation shows. You can not deny that MetroDubs has put on some of the best yearly events over the past 5 years. Yes MetroDubs is an LLC. the reason for this is to simply give the EIN to sponsors that donate items for our events. The products that MD has ever sold were at cost and ZERO profit for the club, or even me. I have put my hard earned money, sweat and tears into every aspect of MD and I love every minute of it, however stressful and unrewarding. But then again, I never did this to be rewarded or patted on the back or to have any fame. That is why I never say I am "owner" "president" or what ever to any public enthusiasts. I do claim my title when I am talking to potential sponsors or companies that I feel MD and the community would prosper from. With that said, I can assure you there is zero truth that I am keeping any money that the club generates. Any funds are always put forward to stickers, shirts, index cards, water and drinks at events, show sponsorships or web site costs; etc.
I know that I will never please everyone, and I never expect to be best friends with anyone. I do have some great relationships with many in E719, RMCB5 and other clubs in the area, and even beyond. I will always continue to support E719 and DATR, Bug-in and VWOTG. The shows that local clubs and companies produce are the continuance of the great foundations that the clubs and enthusiasts have started. I love shows, and will go to as many as I can!! Look for the glitter, look for the tents, look for more joint events like WusteRallye. We also will be driving down to Colorado Springs in the spring to meet up and hang out at your GTG's. Just because I have always thought of E719, my second home. ;-)
Thank you everyone for reading this. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please PM me or email me. baker @ metrodubs.com
Finally, look for a better, bigger and more improved Okt'Dubber Fest in 2011. ;-)
