Holding for Dave's funds till April 1st. So it's up for grabs after that if he doesn't want.

Also, this air dam is in great shape. No structural cracks and all mounting tabs are 100%. Very minor scuffing on the front underside that will come out when it's time for paint. Comes with metal ends and fasteners. Used ones don't come around any nicer than this piece. Price is $40.

I can let you know on the 1st.

mk2's are more narrow in the front and wider in the rear than mk1's. If your talking about small bumpers, a front mk2 bumper might work with some trimming, but the rear mk2 bumper would need to be cut and spliced (not worth the trouble). I've been down this road with mk2 big bumpers and currently have a trimmed oem front and a Mattig rear mk2 style installed on my mk1.

I was actually very surprised by Greg's answer... Anything can fit with modification.. ..

I have seen mkI's with mkII big bumpers, and though it takes alot of work, the finished look is awesome!

The easiest is to find a newer cabby and use the clipper kit

Yeah, I was in a hurry at the time.  Anything can be made to work, but IMO, the work it takes and the resulting look aren't even close to worth it when there are so many other options out there.  I prefer a lighter and cleaner look rather than the later, bulkier and heavier looking Mk2 bumpers.

A Clipper kit on a Jetta would work, but the side skirts would have to be extended (buy 2 more and splice) and the rear valence section would have to be adapted quite a bit.

I mean... how much heavier is a mkII bumper when compared to a mkI clipper?

Or do you mean it just looks heavy?

Weight wise the clipper bumpers weight a ton more than oem mk2 big bumpers. And the italian made big bumpers weigh even less.  No big deal if you want the look of a clipper kit (and I like the look too), but I prefer to keep my mk1 on a diet.
I had collected a full clipper kit about 10 years ago but ditched it in favor of the weight of mk2 big bumpers. Plus the Mattig mk2 look rear big bumper I'm using is fiberglass, so even lighter. I just like doing things different.

I meant looking lighter - but weight on a Mk1 is part of the whole package, too.  No bumpers or euros or aluminums are my favs.

Pics?

I have to say that bumpers are the big question on the Jetta.  I know what I WANT to do, but it'll be expensive and would need considerable modification ~ added to the fact that it would have to come from Europe.  So I'm weighing state-side options as far as the bumpers are concerned.

Here's the rear bumper from the Mattig site. There's a few really nice examples floating around though of big bumpered mk1's. I think if it's done right it works with the mk1 body.
