ok so i read the sticky posting. here is my introduction. my name is Gabe. i live in colorado springs. found myself in a bit of a pinch lately and as a result, i am selling my 1968 bug. this has been my restoration project for many years now. i do not have the time to finish it. its been garage kept for years.

the car was painted about 8 years ago. hasnt been on the road since. the color is a dark purple, with purple and gold flake. the paint job is high quality. 8 coats of paint ant 5 of clear coat.

the interior was replaced at the same time.  it is  black cloth material with purple accents. the ceiling and floor carpets were replaced at this time.

the floor pan was also completely replaced. this car is nearly rust free.

many new parts including chrome bumpers, chrome trim, chrome emblems, chrome running boards, all exterior trim replaced, "eyelid" accessory for headlights. new vw branded racing steering wheel. leather wrapped vw shift knob.

engine runs well. has 40,000 original miles. may need a tune up to get to pass an emissions test. also may need some electrical work, which may include replacing the wiring harness. the window regulators need some work, along with the sunroof.


this bug has a show quality paint job and is a great chance to own a show quality bug without having to put in all the years.

Haha, I was far nicer than most others around here are. Welcome to the club, there's cake and punch in the back, yadda, yadda. If you browse our for sale section, you'll notice people often think it's craigslist for vws. Generally people are asked to introduce themselves in the Introduction section before trying to hawk their wares.

That aside, $5k seems pretty good and the paint looks awesome! Most people here are lookers, you might want to post it on http://www.ppvwc.net/forum/portal.php.

That is definitely true. We welcome fellow Volkswagen enthusiasts, but very frequently people with unwanted VWs like to come around and use our site as a craigslist with the thinking that Volkswagen enthusiasts will be more likely to buy their stuff. Those people make a for sale post, make a few posts relating to their post (spamming other threads or answering questions in their own), and are never heard from again regardless of how "nice" we are to them. It gets annoying when you see random FS threads with things either outrageously priced or loosely related to the focus of this site.

Good luck with the sale, but I don't think you'll have much luck here. We're all too broke because we dump way too much money into old German steel.

ok so i really need to sell this car. i hate to part with my 10 year project car, but need to, to get out of this financial issue. therefore i will reduce the asking price to $3000. the paint job alone was only 500 shy of the asking price, showing how much i really really need the money. call ot text me if interested 7192013901. text perferred.

I used to have a 68 also, so I have a soft spot for them but I cannot buy it. The bug does look good though.
