That would be my guess, but you can always hook power up to the pump and see which line spits crap out.

yes, the braided line goes into the fuel filter.

the rubber return hose (I think) is just below the supply line in that picture. Picture won't work with paint for whatever reason so I can't make arrows.

Generally speaking, feed line is larger than return line.

ALso, I would be money that fuel filter setup isn't rated to 80-100 psi which a CIS system can easily do.  Be careful.

Are you going EFI or CIS? It might be able to handle EFI. You can also install it between the pre-pump and the main pump since pressure on that end is low.

I bet the micron filtering level isn't appropriate for injection, though.  Carb jets can swallow way more than injector orifices.

Yep - Mk1s had only the pressure pump outside the tank, and if you put a restriction before that, it tends to kill the pump.

I'd have to look up the specs on the filter, IIRC, the original FRAM (from which its duplicating) is rated to 100PSI operating... if he's going to run Digifant or MegaSquirt the FPR is only holding about 3-4 BAR.  He should be OK to use that filter, I already plan to use one on the Dasher.
