I finally got the car put together enough to try and get it to start last night. I found out that the hall effect sensor in the distributor doesn't put out enough of a signal when the computer couldn't pick up a tach signal, so I added a 1k pullup resistor from a 5v source. Got to that point at the end of my day and didn't have enough time to trouble shoot why it wasn't running yet (90% sure it's spark/timing related). Overall I've been impressed by the depth of the Megasquirt computer. It's just so much
more than anything else I've worked with (mostly GM TBI system adaptation and tuning). I'm stoked to get this thing running, but work is going to suck most of my time for the rest of the week.

Still have to fit the rad support, lengthen some wires for the fan/AC, plug in the lights and reassemble the interior. Anyways, some pictures of what I've been up to these past couple of days.
How I started Monday:

How the engine bay looked shortly afterwards

Old CIS-Motronic

The official I-don't-like-how-Volkswagen-designed-this salute!

Fuel rail installed with injectors off of a turbo Volvo (~30# injectors from what I've found)

Quicky wire tuck through the frame rail

GM TPS sensor and custom bracket to fit the TB (GM TPS sensor is a lot more common than the famed 16v auto passat TB)

Installed

IAT installed in intake to TB boot

Custom intake

Mount for the computer

My custom IAC

Installed in the old 5th injector location.

That's all for now. I'll try to get some more taken later. Maybe I'll find some batteries for my camera so I don't have to use my phone.
