I retract my "in", going to the loveland gtg...

Weak. There's a Large Denver Metro area GTG every month, and we don't do local things (Colorado Springs local) very often. Besides, I think you can still make it to the GTG since they tend to go till about 3pm.

This Press release was just sent to The Gazette, The Independent, Fox 21, KKTV, KRDO, and KOAA:

Hello Local News Folks!
On Saturday, November 14th, 2009, The Pikes Peak Volkswagen Club (PPVWC) is joining together with other front range Volkswagen clubs to cruise for charity. PPVWC members voted to support the Care and Share Food Bank For Southern Colorado ( www.careandsha re.org ) as this year's charity. I have been in contact with Care & Share's event coordinator, Shannon Coker, who is very excited at the idea of vintage (and some not-so-vintage) Volkswagens cruising for their most worthy cause. We are meeting at Palmer Park (the parking lots at Maizeland and Academy) at 9:00 a.m., and will cruise straight over from there along Constitution. We are planning on dropping off the food and any other donations at Care & Share's headquarters (2605 Preamble Point - on Constitution, east of Powers) around 9:30 or so, and we would love to have a local media presence at this special event. Please let me know if someone from your organization will be able to join us as we help out locals who need some extra food on the shelves this holiday season. Here'e the event posting from our forum ( http://www.ppvwc.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=50883#50883 ).

Thanks so much for your consideration!

It was good to see all of the people that showed up. Between PPVWC, Editiong719 and SVD we collected 473lbs of food and donated over $50. Good job guys!

Turns out there was a few more pounds and like $80, so well over 1000lbs all told.  Thanks guys, we'll have to do it again sometime.  Oh, and thanks for not leaving us in the dust (fog).

LOL, aircooleds might have invented "slow and low" but there's still plenty of watercooleds that still represent it. ;D
