Rolled the old bitch out of the garage today (Oval)
« on: October 07, 2009, 07:37:43 PM »

I literally haven't moved this fucker in a year and a half  ::)

Finally rolled it out in the driveway today and cleaned off all the dust and cobwebs.

Here she is when I bought it..almost 4 years ago.  I guess I made a little progress?  ;D
For those that remember the whole front clip was crushed the fuck in when I bought it and I've since cut it off and replaced it with a straight clip.

Heh, pat.  When i was seeing those first picks, i kept thinking "wow, thats in rough shape..." then i got to the second set when you originally got it.  Suddenly looking at the initial pictures, i wasn't thinking that it was in rough shape anymore.

$4K (substantially less than what I have in it)
Includes brand new front beam, narrowed 6inches, new CB disc brakes, new CB drop spindles, new narrowed tie rods. All 4 tires new
The car has no rust issues whatsoever. Just needs restored.  Original engine, transmission

Damn Pat... I thought you got the JDM bug in you from the overwhemling experinces you have had in your Kia, and went to the drifto forums....

Nice to see you back once in a while.... Now go clean that bug up and keep it.

I'm still around, just busy as hell with family, work, and trying to finish up my college degree.
I doubt I'm keeping it as I'm about to close a deal here this weekend and will end up getting something a helluva lot more fun to replace the bug.  I'll be sure to report back here and show you guys  ;)

Still have it.  Been slowly plugging away on it. I have piles and boxes of parts that I can't seem to find time to install.  Kind of lost steam on it too.  It's for sale... everything's for sale for the right price.... not really pushing to sell it but wouldn't turn down a sale for the right price.

I think I'm slowly losing my passion for VW's.  I've got a lot of car stuff bouncing around in my mind but it involves American cars with V-8's

And get off my Kia, that thing has earned it's keep time and time again. From trailering my Beetle from Arizona to Alabama... to hauling around a 25 foot pontoon boat all over Alabama this summer. I don't regret buying that thing even a little bit.

Jesus Pat!  You still have this thing?  And still haven't finished it.  I lost the vw bug for the most part too.  I still love them and all I just don't want one.  Maybe another bug some day?  But not now.

What American V8 cars are you thinking about?  I just bought one myself.  I never could bring myself to buy one before but I am glad I did.  At least fo now.  It is going to haul ass and not be too damn high strung.  ~ 400 whp daily driver should do the trick.  Should have pretty good resale around these parts too with all the GI's and their love for muscle.  There are tons of quality parts out there and easy enough to work on.  I am getting ready to pull the dash this weekend to change the damn heater core.  Good times!  Next is a 5-lug swap with big brakes.  13" up front and 12" in the rear.  Just waiting on two key parts to get shipped.

Yeah I still have it.  Between having to piece it back together and move to Alabama 2 years ago and the fact that I work like a slave now I just haven't had any time to dig back into it.  I'm looking at possibly some type of an old Chevy early 50's or early 60's ... or an early S-10 pickup with a V-8 swap.
