Anyway, I got a quote for paint, roll and pull fenders and to fix all the blemishes... 2300 bucks.  :o
Also included the bed-liner.

First of all Dave let me say "my bad", I had no intent on starting drama on your thread. Keep up the good work and next year you won't be runner-up. :t-up:
Now to clear some things up! I stand behind what I said about CIS-E or CIS Motronic! I recall our conversation about cams and jumped the gun on my statement. If you add cams and keep the set-up you got now and adjust your pressure or sensor plate you will have issues with fuel (learn or rich) somewhere on the power band. That's the nice part of CIS-E or Motronic, you have the ability to idle and cruise lamda/stoichiometric and the ability to adjust WOT afr.
Now on to building a CIS turbo set-up, yah right. Go through all that time and trouble searching for the parts just to have a ceiling of 220ish whp. I'm all for staying OG but no thanks.
Ummmmmmm, yes you do! You are partly correct with your statement. Motronic does use a chip for fuel and timing but you still can adjust the DPR for more fuel at WOT. I adjusted my idle mixture and DPR so I could pass emission with a gutted cat and the car ran just fine, no balls but it ran fine without the ecu going hay-wire.
*I adjusted the DPR when I installed my ABF cams and reset the idle mixture and had no problems.
*I adjusted the DPR when I installed my 50mm intake and reset the idle mixture and my car runs like a champ.
When your adjusting either of the two systems if you don't have a multimeter, timing light and a wideband controller (LC-1 or AEM) you will have serious problems.

hey man its all good, no drama in my book! I feel ya, with Basic, I will be rich in the bottom to fuel the top or nice in the bottom end just to end up lean up top (my situation)

Its all good with the talk in here, better than shit about the lakers or other BS.  Good ole' vw threads! Im going to do some reasearch on what cams I can run that will be nice with Forced Induction so I dont double spend. I will also look into the MSnS setup, but from my understanding 034 can get  baseline program set up, or my buddy with two 16VTs can hit me up with SDS info. He taught his wife to run a basic program.  :canadian:

Im drunk, going to bed.

268's is the perfect boost cam. Unless you get Catcams, because cat sells cams in many durations for boost aplications. But any off the shelf 268 is perfect for a street boosted setup.

034 base maps, are basiclly just maps that are setup for all of there sensors with a generic maps that sometimes fire a car. Depends on what all you all you have done and the setup you have. But still require major tuning to make fully driveable

There are tons of people on all the forums that will be willing to give you there maps for startup also. Doesnt matter MS, SDS, 034 or lugtronic/vems

Awesome, I remember back in the day... my DSM buddy (I know it isnt the same engine but its DOHC) had said 264 intake and 268 exhaust made for a nice setup. I'll look into pricing on 268's. I can imagine it would run better until I get the everything together to boost it

the 268/260 8v Cam is a nice low-overlap cam for boost (turbo or SC)
