First of all Dave let me say "my bad", I had no intent on starting drama on your thread. Keep up the good work and next year you won't be runner-up.
Now to clear some things up! I stand behind what I said about CIS-E or CIS Motronic! I recall our conversation about cams and jumped the gun on my statement. If you add cams and keep the set-up you got now and adjust your pressure or sensor plate you will have issues with fuel (learn or rich) somewhere on the power band. That's the nice part of CIS-E or Motronic, you have the ability to idle and cruise lamda/stoichiometric and the ability to adjust WOT afr.
Now on to building a CIS turbo set-up, yah right. Go through all that time and trouble searching for the parts just to have a ceiling of 220ish whp. I'm all for staying OG but no thanks.
Ummmmmmm, yes you do! You are partly correct with your statement. Motronic does use a chip for fuel and timing but you still can adjust the DPR for more fuel at WOT. I adjusted my idle mixture and DPR so I could pass emission with a gutted cat and the car ran just fine, no balls but it ran fine without the ecu going hay-wire.
*I adjusted the DPR when I installed my ABF cams and reset the idle mixture and had no problems.
*I adjusted the DPR when I installed my 50mm intake and reset the idle mixture and my car runs like a champ.
When your adjusting either of the two systems if you don't have a multimeter, timing light and a wideband controller (LC-1 or AEM) you will have serious problems.
