Hmm, well what I *thought* I was tying into was the pre-fuse line of my turn signal power (I believe they are a constant 12v when the car is on controlled by solenoid?) from a small hole on the underside of the fuse block, but I think I may have been one hole off... ending up in the fuel pump's "hole". (I don't know what to call them, it really is just a hole with an electrical contact deep inside...)

Either way, everything that I had done is now un-done. Would having a wire tied in to the control line at some point have fried something?

It's possible, but a lot more would be not working. I'm not exactly sure how Digifant II handles the fuelpump. On the older CISe the fuelpump relay was controlled by the ignition control module. On CIS motronic the ignition control module was built into the computer. My guess is that digifant uses one of those two methods to excite the relay, so if tapping into the control wire fried something either the computer wouldn't work (would cause the car to have no fuel or spark) or the ignition control module wouldn't work (would cause the car to have no spark). Since if you hot wire the fuel pump the car runs, the likely hood of the computer/ICM being fried is small. The next logical problem spot is the path from the computer/ICM to the relay. Try peeling a little bit of insulation off of the control wire close to the fuse box so that you can put a probe from a multimeter (don't trust a test light) and turn the key to "on" and see if it gets power. If it gets power then pin 03 in plug G1 is the problem and you'll have to extract the pin from the "hole" to repair it/see why it's not making contact. If it doesn't get power then do the same test to the control wire at the computer/ICM and go from there.

So, after a wonderfully blazing hot day of chasing wires, I got the control wire from my ECU to the fuse block to be working tip top. The control pin on my relay now gets 9-12v whenever my key is turned.

So, I was all excited and went to go start it up, and still no fuel pump prime. So I went back through and checked everything, and it appears that my problem has cleverly jumped to the bottom spade of my relay instead of the control spade. Now I am not getting 12v of power to the receiving end of my relay when the key is turned. The live side is still getting 12v, and the pump still runs perfectly fine when the two connections are jumpered.

So I'm beginning to think that all of my problems were indeed from a failed relay, and perhaps the two relays that I bought from the store (first one was definitely the wrong PN) just happened to be duds?

That being said, Does anyone have a guaranteed working fuel pump relay that they could help me test with?

Ok. I seriously need assistance! I spent all day today trying to get this fixed for datr, it is honestly driving me insane. Every wire checks out, everything is getting the right voltage, except for the pin that is supposed to feed 12v to the fuel pump when the relay turns on. Instead it goes from 0v to like 0.3v. If I pull fuse 18, the fuel pump fuse, then that pin gets up to 9v and then slowly dies back down to 0. I have since purchased four brand new relays from bap geon and eBay, none of them working. When I jumper the relay, it works fine. Everything points to a bad relay but I can't believe that all four of those relays are bad. Can anyone help? It's been over four weeks and I Need my daily back!

I can more than likely come over for a bit on Saturday morning. Got a lot of work and school between now and then. Where abouts are you?

Well Barry, I guess one more relay wouldn't hurt.

That would be grand Smokestack, I would really appreciate that. I just moved out to the east part of town and I'll PM you my address

I you may have some wires wrong coming off your coil. I had that issue. It would only run with the jumper, turned out to be a loose connection off #15 terminal. Red/black  goes on 1 black wire goes on 15.

Oh Glorious Day...

Smokestack came by today and went to town on my wiring issues. A new fuse block, new ecu, a trip to A1 and a few sore thumbs later... And she starts again... Now I can finally continue with all the super cool secret Mk2 project stuff

Huge karma to Chris, as well as everyone else who gave me advice!
