So… we were hanging out at a local bar downtown Colorado Springs last Saturday, and a Porsche Cayenne Turbo S pulled up in front of the balcony at a stop light. I mentioned to a friend of mine how badass it looked, and a dude standing behind us kind of looked at it over his shoulder, and then laughed, saying “I rape those all the time in my car”…. Intrigued, I asked him what kind of car he drove….

This is where the funny starts…

He proceeded to tell me about his Nimbus grey Audi TT…. Nothing special… just a stock 1.8T TT with a cold air intake (presumably bought off of eBay) and a chip. He was like “Yeah… I murder those Porsche’s all the time… I destroyed one just like that on the way down here tonight”. The whole time he was talking, his buddy next to him was nodding, and replying with that retard “yea… that’s right” kind of sentiment…. I asked his buddy what he drove, and he told me he had a… get this… 2003 mkIII 1.8T golf… BAHAHAHAHAHA…. I said “oh yeah? A mkIII?” He replies… “yeah… what about it?” At this point I can tell I am going to have a lot of fun with these idiots…..

Dude with the TT chimes back saying the 1.8T was the best motor that VW ever engineered… period. He tells me that how can you refuse to recognize that fact, since the motor was strictly built for a boosted application…. “I mean seriously dude… the 1.8T has 3 intake valves, and 2 exhaust…. You cannot build a better motor for boost than that.” I ask him “Well… what about the VR6? It was a pretty damn revolutionary design for the time, and it is still a proven platform.” He laughs at me… and says “Well… the problem with the VR6 is that it hits a wall…. After 4000 RPM it has nothing left to give. The 1.8T just keeps giving, and the power is limitless…” BAHAHAHAHA

This goes on for another 10 or 15 minutes before I just laugh and walk away… What a douche….

4000 is all the vr has?!?!?!!?!?!?? bull shit..i saw that guy at the shell his buddy in the so called mkIII was locking the e brake and dumping the clutch at 5000+ and kept stalling it it was hilarious. the kid in the TT was a cocky douche. thought his TT was the shit. he kept on telling me how fast it was.

Thats funny... if I would have been there I would told him to run my VR and see what kind of "wall" it hits at about 4K. Maybe that would kill his cockyness.
And the 1.8T is the one that actually hits a wall on the stock turbo... really boost starts to decline after 4K all the way to redline on the ol k03.

I could see him runnin on a non boosted cayenne (they came in the 3.2 vr right?) but no way he'll kill a turbo model.

I don't even think his wife wants to talk to him anymore. Past couple of times I've run into them they haven't been with each other, and I know the old douche would never let his wife go to the clubs alone. Their house seems to be sick of them too cause a bunch of rednecks live there now.
