No more MK2?

no more :canadian:. I want something a little newer with some creature comfort yet still fun to drive and I still want the VR engine.

I think I'll leave it NA, maybe cams, header, etc... I miss the sound of the VR and I originally wanted a mk4 R32 but this is  within budget.

But everyone here will tell you not to waste your time.
I will point out... I LOVE mine.

I just deleted the suitcase muffler out of my mkIII.... I love the sound....

my mkII VRT did not have a cat, resonator, or mid muffler, and it was still reasonably quiet, and didnt have the same VR sound, so I know what you mean.

Carlos has a good point... charge it! You can still run the cams, and retain the VR sound... plus on a mkIII, you can fit the V1/V2 series vortech charger in the bay. And if you get tired of it (more likely, you'll get tired of paying for the gas), you can easily pull the charger back off, and put the N'A chip in, and be good to go.

My brother still has that V1 sitting in his garage, and he told me this morning that he didnt think he was going to install it anytime soon  ;)

Exactly what I have in mind,... Turbo is fun on the streets and freeway and I'll probably do it again if I ever get an R32. Just wanted something different and easy to take off for smog duties.

oh my mk3 has a magnaflow exhaust with a center tube resonator.... sounds good but not as throtty as the borlas which I love.  I'll keep that V1 in mind but it will be in the next 1-2 years

Nice.  Again I love my kit...that whine along w/ the vr growl gives me a woody everytime I fire my car up. Worked the v2 a lil this weekend on the way back from VWOTP, I love how hard it pulls through the top gears...played with a boxster a lil and almost broke this guys neck in an s2000 from all the staring and rubber necking he was doing ;D

I vote for the Jetta front (do they make e-codes?? DO IT)

Personally I hate Jti's.  Love the gti front on the 3, especially with a lil porsche flair ;D

yeah... but alittle bit of Porsche flair = alot of shitty work....

Keep it simple, and do the Jetta front end... just be fair to the guys with Jetta, and don't do a swap....

"Everytime I see a JTI a small tear forms in my eye.... Becuase I know out there somewhere, there is a poor bastard with a GTI front end on his Jetta."

You know I used to not like mk3s a few years ago. Not after seeing ann's fun autocrosser gti and carlos blue gti with the audi wheels. :t-up:.   I'm going for the usual oem look.

Don't worry I'm keeping the gti front... love the dual chamber headlight

Beetle Turbo S wheels (I think they are called Deltas?) look really good on a car like yours. I never paid attention to them before until I saw it done on a GTI the same color as yours. Also VR's with a good exhaust are the sexiest sounding VW motors.
