Now that Ive calmed down...
« on: April 27, 2009, 11:52:29 PM »

Ok, seriously what is up with people driving in this city. I used to think Fayetteville NC was the chode of horrible drivers but no... no my friend, that title belongs to Colorado Springs.

Its bad enough I almost got hit tonight from some woman eating a damn burrito, who decided that the hot sauce needed lapping up was more important than being in my lane with Academy full of traffic.  Not even 5 minutes later when I was merging onto Platte from Academy some mother fucking retard threw a BOTTLE out his window onto the on ramp as I was driving down.  I thought it was a cigarette or something but then realized I was poorly mistaken when it exploded on the asphalt in front of my car.  Then I pulled beside him and honked my horn (At the red light); he must of forgotten the act due to the recent memory of something sweet in his mouth cavity.  I try to keep it cool when people drive 5 under in the fast lane, or when people just ride brakes all the way to a green light just to gun it when it turns yellow... but seriously what the FUCK!  It was a good thing the bottle didnt hit my car or I would of probably been in jail right now.

I know jail isnt worth it, but wht the hell.  If I see that POS 240 with the temp tags again and the same blank stare, I may give him a piece of my mind!  Ahh... anyhow, my vent of anger is out.

At least I feel better now.

Born in texas, lived in 13 different states and Colorado Springs drivers are definitely up there on the list...  I'd say worse than Texas :t-down:

Hahah yeah, But I only lived there from birth to like seven months... Don't remember a thing!  8) But I've been down there a few times and my highway driving experience was nothing as bad as I-25 through the Springs. If I recall correctly, slower traffic actually moves to the right down there.  Plus their roads are somewhat paved, more than I can say for this town

We definitely have more aggressive drivers here, I was sideswiped in my BMW, you know, the one with no exhaust and the headlights that point directly in to mirrors.  Then she claimed she couldn't see me, great, could you at least get the fuck off your pone long enough to hear me? It's not like I'm subtle or anything, if I had been in the Audi I probably would have killed the bitch.

Wow, venting does work. ;D

Add to that the country yokels that grew up here that think they have extra privileges for being a native driver on these roads and think the speed limits are 10-20 mph too fast. (most of my family falls into this category. ::) )

I feel you on the Bay area though, but I actually had less road rage down there. I think it was mostly from the fact that everyone around me was equally screwed by the traffic with no one in particular to blame. In Colorado Springs I'm able to focus my frustrations on the 3 cars driving abreast that are ahead of me doing 10 under and forcing everyone else behind them to do the same because it "should be that way anyways". Fucking self proclaimed cops. If it wasn't considered a crime I'd add push bars to my car and "readjust" their thinking when they're choking up traffic. Give them a taste of their own medicine. :driving:

Drivers around the world are useless. I think it is due to the fact that majority only use their vehicle for transportation, and do not hold the same interest we do to the vehicle. Example, for some a vehicle is a status symbols nothing more, and has no concept of braking and weight of the vehicle. Others buy for MPG, so they don’t give a fuck that they are slow in the left lane, and don’t care that they make you slow down, and waste gas. Others,  my favorite mare vehicle tuff guys. They use their vehicles aggressive, crowding you, or to intimidate you. Knowing that if they were not in a vehicle you would smash their fuckin face in. they won’t stop, and are quick to call the po po. SUV's fall in this category. Where I am at you could be doing 120 mph, and a fiat punto doing 60 mph will cut in front of you.  or your big body benz people like to move slow and act like they are coming back in your lane to fuck with you. In Fayetteville I still believe this is the worst place of all scum bag fuckn drivers, but yeh the springs sucks ass too. Thanks to all the Cali people who come to get away from fires and earthquakes and learn to drive in the snow in MF COS! lol ;D

I see some bad drivers here, but not as many as I'd figure considering the stories posted here on occasion.

However, I was in Louisville, KY over the weekend for the Derby and I saw some crazy-ass driving out there.  Granted, there were a ton of people there from out of town so I can't blame it on the Louisville drivers entirely, but that was some of the worst driving I've experienced.

Not to mention that their road system there is all f-ed up(at least considering what I'm used to here).  There were numerous parts of town in which lanes would occasionally go one direction or the other(and sometimes be turn lanes) depending on the level of traffic.  That part I can actually agree with I just wasn't used to seeing it outside of a highway type area like the HOV lanes in Denver.

However, there were lots of other places in town where the farthest outside lane was sometimes used for parking rather than driving.  This is apparently on purpose and somehow you're just supposed to know when those times are.  It was very frustrating driving along and then having to randomly switch lanes when you're coming up on a car that's just parked in the lane you are in.  According to my friend who lives there, you get used to it, but it's still a very strange thing IMO.

Also, I saw a lot of donks as well.  Not that they were bad drivers, but I just wasn't expecting that.

I told you how I keep the retards away, I swerve all the lanes and randomly smash brakes. Keeps my section of the road clear!! Before that I almost got t-boned 3-4 times a day on average.
