got to be the turbo i was driving it today and it will fun fine in small small boost. when i give it more gas lots of smoke. so.. anyone got a spare turbo or were to get one. i am going to look at the vortex and see what i can find but..if not a rebuild is 350 to 450 and a new turbo is lookin around 250 new from what i found.

You should look into an ECU flash also. If your going to do it, do it right. Im pretty sure with the 1.8T if you go with bigger injector, the computer will just send the same pulses which will make you run rich = less MPG (if that matters)

i would venture to stay away from used turbos..unless you absolute know the buyer ....

i know i should but i just got a ticket for it and have 100 bucks to my name and i had to borrow it. sooooo anything goes right now. untell i get more money then a ko4 with bigger injectors possible front mount and ecu flash and tuned

dude if all you have is 100 bucks, you will buy the turbo..then (if you buy a t3 t4) you will need a hoist of other parts that surely will add up to more than 100 bucks.

Furthermore, after turning up the boost and going big turbo, I would set aside 1000-1500 just in case shit starts to blow....

I would just replace the turbo with a k04-022 from the TT 225...which is a better turbo than the k04-001 and k04-015s...

If all you have is a hundred bucks and a shoestring budget for modding, just go with a new or rebuilt stock. If you're having trouble replacing just a turbo, you'll really have trouble replacing the motor after you melt a piston from running too lean because you put a larger turbo on without doing any fuel system work or chip tuning. Wait to do all that shit when you have money for the full shi-bang; turbo, injectors, chip.
