Where is a good place to get an alignment around these parts? I also need an oil change so any place that can do both?

over lowering prevents proper suspension geometry, as well as proper suspension travel. in george's car, if you try to get the front suspension to travel much at all, its going to rub. another function thing is my overwhelming dislike for stretched tires. cuz you really need 10" wide wheels with 205 tires.

i know my car doesnt quite scream "function", and thats cuz the wallet cant handle that. for a good representation of a "functional" MKIV, see ian cole's car.

that, and im not going lower because i cant afford spare oil pans

I love my stretch

In my opinion wasting 650 bucks for 8" Subs or whatever you paid for them is a waste and non-functional.

subs are a waste. Ive been there and done that. Actually I have gotten rid of everything just about on my truck that is a waste. (just need a 1.8 replacement hahahaha)

I know about the whole "fuctional" suspension, but lets be real for a minute.

1. Its a VW with a TORSION bar rear suspension (save MKV's)

2. They are SLOW. Yes, even your 1.8T is slow until you sink some money into it.

3. They are for a special breed, thats why Rand doesnt want VWs anymore.

and finally, they look good super low and with stretched tires, to most people.

You know there are many parts to fix this, and then you can correct geometry and lower center of gravity.

So instead of saying i prefer function over form, you should say i dont want to spend the money to have both
