It involves body work. You take off anything that is "extra" (eg badges, wipers, spoilers, lights, door handles, antennas, etc.) and fill any holes/seems in body panels by welding them or with body filler. All of this is followed by a respray of the worked over parts. I'm not sure what all is on the hatch or hood of the NB to be shaved, but try picking up some spare body panels to shave before attaching anything that is a more permanent part of your car. Doesn't matter what color or if it has some dings, you're doing body work already and can fix imperfections before you paint it. It's very satisfying when you take your time and do it right, but can be frustrating at times.
