Tomorrow, probably at around 10am or so. We worked for a few hours tonight, made some decent progress. If you know anything about Mk3's and wanna help out, come on down!

Also, if you have a Mk3 clutch cable, bring it with you :-P

It's going good. Barry's the man. Gotta pickup a clutch cable, some strut bushings, a transmission/clutch dust cover, and a new driver's side axle tomorrow and then we should be able to put it back together.

Hockey puck DIY, what do you think?

1) buy three pucks i got mine for $1 each at a local sporting goods store
2) get a 3/8" drill bit, and drill a hole through the center of each
3) go to lowes/home depot buy: a 3/8"x16x5" bolt, a 3/8"x16 nut, 3/8"x16 lockwasher, (2) 3/8"x16 washer
4) remove lower allen bolt and upper hex head bolt on stock motor mount
5) mildly jack up engine, and finagle mount out
6) place 2 pucks in place of the old crappy one, and place lower stock mount on top (metal facing up, rubber facing down
7) lower engine down so it is barely touching mount because most likely the pucks will not line up considering the are a little smaller in diameter than the stock mount

slide bolt through top along with a washer
9) slide last puck up from underneath, along with a washer, lockwasher, and nut (do not tighten yet)
10) lower engine completely, tighten nut
11) grab a coke and a smile because you just spent $5 instead of $60

Trying to fix it. Stock mounts are kinda trashed and the engine moves pretty violently on occasion. I'm trying to eliminate noises so when people test drive it, they don't say,"wtf was that?!" Instead, it will vibrate a bit more on idle and they'll say, "what's that vibration?" And I'll say, "stiffer motor mounts for performance."

Bap Geon gave me a price of $55 for the clutch cable

so I think I'll shop around or order that. $78 for the front axle

You guys were saying I can use a manually adjustable cable from like a Mk2?

They said $35 each for the strut mounts/bushing and they'd have to get them out of Denver. Should I just go to Best Foreign and try to pull all of this shit from there? How much would it cost me? Anyone wanna come help today at like 3:30pm?

And Dave, when I was at Advanced Auto Parts, I had them pull a strut mount/bushing to look at it and see how much it costs (~$45 in stock) and there is a 3rd piece that goes in the middle that I'm missing, which might be the cause of the slack.

In any case, I don't think I'm gonna have everything I need to finish this up today...

Looks like a bearing. Pretty sure I don't have that...

Here's the list of crap I need if anyone can help.

Clutch cable
Front strut mount/bushing/bearing. I can probably get away with just the bearing since I'm missing that completely...
Front driver's side axle (wheel side of it threads came off...

)
Clutch dust shield/cover
Clutch/transmission inspection plate with rubber seal thingy
3 Hockey pucks and bolts

I actually have the vr6 strut mounts w/ the bearing if you want it. I'll trade you for the right turn signal you got.

They aren't brand new but the mounts in good shape and the bearing seems fine. Will do what you need it to for sure.

You can do the manual adjust cable, but now that AJ figured out how it loosens I would hit up A1 and find a 4 dollar cable. (either way it would be cheaper than the new one)

Also you could PROBABLY get the axle from A1 also. I think they are 35 each. I can go to A1 on Friday but not before then.

LOL. I dont get off till 5 and Im going to head straight to whever these guys want to meet to scan their car, so I wont be home to grab those parts. I can grab them tonight and meet with you tomorrow? Unless you need them today, then I can have you swing by my gf's house and get them from me.
