Im thinking about trading mine in as well.  I'm probably gonna wait until the R20's are out though.  That car makes my balls tingle.

although that 2.0t tiguan is very very nice...in black....4 motion...prett y sweet.

good luck to you whatever you decide to do.

i would personally love to see the scirocco make it here..but doubtful at this pt.

I think VW is making 100% the right decision in making the new .:R a turbo/awd.  I think the enthusiasts will appreciate it more than the anemic 3.2 they had in the MKV's.

well i just think that people become too enamored with turbo..boost.. this and that.

anemic_?...perhaps..bu t it is hands down the best sounding car ever.

i love my r32....

and i have owned a big turbo a4, supercharged v6s...and still..somethi ng about the visceral sound of the mk4 r....

dunno...maybe i am biased.

but i still think people just want to stick a turbo on anything....

hey hunny the lawnmower is dying..

STICK A Turbo on it!

Fuck the R20, that's the gayest sounding name ever. GTI-R if it's got a puny 4 banger. Everyone wants a turbo R so they can chip it and get 320+ hp two weeks after they buy it. I'm all for more hp but not at the expense of the VR roar.  I want an R36. R25 I might consider.

Rofl, how much haterade have you had today ;-).

I don't see how r20 is any worse than r32.  And i could care less about r36's.  Last thing i want is a heavier engine in the front of an already front heavy car.

And i'm sorry, though i like a nice exhaust note, im not going to sacrifice handling and balance just to get it.

x2. The VR was/is a nice motor, but it's getting a bit antiquated now. It just doesn't fit the fuel efficient mindset everyone is in and it's going to be real hard for it to pass emissions for a small car with a nearly 4 liter 6 cylinder motor under the hood. Keeping it only makes sense to the people that are perfectly happy with the old VWs and not interested in the new ones. Who buys a car based off of the exhaust note? Yes the VR sounds sexy, but the only time the sound of the engine in a $30-40k car comes into play is when it is loud enough and annoying enough to turn me off. I wouldn't knock the 2.0T though. It's a very capable motor and I think my GLI sounds dead sexy with my new Autotech exhaust. ;D

I think the turbo I-5 out of the TTRS (or some variation of the 2.5 I-5 turboed) would be tits, but it doesn't look like it's happening. Like most people that don't hang off of the VR's nuts, I could care less what sequence of letters and numbers are in its name as long as the damn thing comes with a manual transmission this time around.

i dont hang off the vr6s nuts...and i appreciate every car for what it is...
i am just saying...reall y where they got it wrong is the styling...

call me a purist...i have never liked the mk5 anythings....h onestly )and the mk6 seems to be going nowhere fast.

the design has just been missed by vw....yes there are nice ones out there..fast ones out there..whateve r you want to say...but...it has been nearly 3 years now since the release of the mk5s and it still hasnt grown on me one bit....

i had owned three mk3s previously and really thought the same of the mk4s until i drove and saw an r32..and a fixed up jazz blue 20th....

but the mk5s have yet to get to that pt with me..and at this pace..i dont think it will happen.

again this is just personal opinion...

and as far as handling..my front heavy vr6 will outhandle a lot of the stuff you just mentioned.

i dont have hatearade..i am just reiterating where my preferences lie withouth HANGING off any motors nuts..

thanks! :P

The 3.6L VR6 barely weighs more than the 3.2.

2.5T would be sweet but there's no way they would do that because it would kill TTRS sales which are more expensive.

I admit, I hang off the VR's nuts.  You should too.

I'm not knocking 2.0Ts or turbo'd cars, my GTI is turbo'd.  It's sick!  But if the R were turbo'd, I wouldn't have bought it (unless it was a turbo'd VR ;)).  Just my opinion.  I want a 3.6L VR6 so I can twin-turbo it and kill supercars.

I'd probably actually drive a Mk6 R36 DSG, if it were to become available.

Jessica is not my sugar momma, we are a family, we have been together for 5 years and have a 17 month old daughter, she works fulltime, i watch the baby and go to grad school, my kid sister (works from home, call center) watches the baby 2 days a week for the one day-time class i have. i pay my bills, she pays hers and i pay the rent/utilities as well.

we were paying 1013.00/month on cars payments and insurance...wi th our tax returns (8k) and 2 trades, we got this car and a new engine/interior/other misc mechanicals for my truck, she drives the CC, i drive my truck. total vehicle expendatures have dropped by 450.00 per month....smart financial decision in my book.

(oh and i am waiting of some papers from the doe to start working again, thanks.)

any other questions about my financial and familial situation, scott? is that situation ok with you?

for future referances, please do not ask my about my private life again because it is none of your bussiness and i respect all of you all enough to not ask, or question or insult you, about yours. thanks.

Really Mike, I was just giving you shit about having a sugar mama. Hell flaunt it! It's good you can just ignore some of the comments on here but rather just play into them.  Your business is your business, I think you should keep it that way but do what you like. As for laying out your financial info, what the hell for? It's no ones business except your and Jess but whatever man.
