need new wheelzz
« on: March 03, 2009, 03:31:50 PM »

So peoples, I sold my iForged wheels for a profit and i'm in the market for some nice wheels again that I like that i can sell for a profit again later.

I'm thinking of going with 20's this time around, but i don't feel like spending the extra coin for 20" tires at the same time...

Here are what I've narrowed my choices down to:

BBS CH - The classic look will always look classic on the b6

But i know i'd miss the lip...and I know this time around I'm going to get a stepped lip.

Rial Daytona Race 19x8.5 & 19x9.5 or 10

The only problem is the weight on these beasts - the internetz says these weight a heavy 32 lbs for the 8.5's and 35/36 for the 10's. yikes! but they look so pretty!

ideas?

i love them both.... CH's took a while but they've grown on me... seems like their are too many R32's with them though.

i've always liked the Daytonas though.... my buddy ben in TN has them on his jetta

Look for BBS LM's instead... they weigh less and have the same design.  You can get the ch's in a dark chrome or anthracite color now... looks pretty sweet.

18" BBS RC  :t-up:  If I ever put new wheels on the .:R, it'd be these.

I like LM's, but those are pricey as hell. Plus, they're harder to come by second hand in a staggered fitment. I have determined that any wheels with a lip will require a staggered setup...i got spoiled by my Iforged and Jlines and i can't go back!!

We'll see, though. The CHunkies are cool in the new colors, but i'm a classic look kinda guy, so i'm looking for the silver CH's with a red BBS centercap...

Im just not sure the LM style wheel belongs on new bodystyle audis.

If i recall yours is a B6?  Those have always looked absolutely fantastic with CH's.  I wouldn't even hesitate if it were me.

CHs are hot. You might look into the BBS LM-R and the RS-GT as well - I especially like the LM-R. I don't know if M-B are still 5x112, but you might also look into HRE M40s (in Mercedes fitment?) if you want to go mega-baller...

Im just a bbs whore in general... I got RC's right now, had RXII's before hand, and had LM's on the Jetta.
LM's were probably my fav, but ch's do look damn good on a b6.
My next set might be a set of rs' :D

I thought about the Works, but i wanted a step lip this time around, and the Rials really appeal to me in terms of styling.

I'm debating on getting some bbs lm reps in a staggered fitment to hold me over till i find the ones i want...then again, i don't like the idea of losing money on wheels again...

serious or joking? tell me you're joking.

Probably a bad idea if you have a VW badge on your car, but if you have the extra money to buy a car with rings you can pull wheels like these off and make it look good ;D

haha, it's easier to switch wheels than to switch cars. I switch them up so i can fall in love with the car all over again. :)

I'll pass on the Modulares; i'm not a big fan of black wheels or colored wheels for that matter. I like it clean and simple...with the exception of when i first got the iforged, they've always been silver/brushed with a polished lip.

No, you can't - nothing would make those wheels look good, shy of a huge fire.

i <3 M40's! i'd rock them in a heartbeat if i could find them secondhand for <2k. I'm too much of a cheapass to buy wheels new and I LOVE the concavity you can get with those in a staggered fitment.

I'm also debating on some Volk LE-37's since they're fairly light, and have a simple design. I don't think it'll go with my theme of the car though :\

I also like the HRE 890 series -- those with a step lip would  :o :o :o

I'm going to start looking at some bimmer forums to see if i can find a good set of wheels for cheap. I heard the wobble bolts from Raderwerks are pretty money to get the 5x114.3 fitment to work on audi's...

Volk LE37 are possibly one of my favorite wheels of all time, that being said, i don't think they really fit on audi's too well.  Its more of a subi/nissan wheel IMO.

HRE = sects, but $$$.  I've also heard they're somewhat soft in terms of they like to bend.  I could be wrong though.
