The only thing that makes a light an e-code is the pattern on the glass, which in turn effects the pattern of the light output. Oliver, do your in-pro's have a smooth finish on the glass? If so, I wouldn't classify them as ecodes neccessarily.. . The other things to look for are the bulb types, and if the lights have city bulb sockets or not. My mkII has authentic e-codes... where as the pattern on the glass projects the light differently than the stock NA lights. It also takes H4's and has the city bulb sockets....

On my last mkII (now owned by Giggidy), it had in-pro cyrstal clear headlights.... no beam projection pattern on the glass, but still took the H4's and had city lights.  :t-up:

Now.... I am pretty sure no matter what kind or brand of light you buy for the inner, they will all have smooth glass, because they are the high beam lights, and dont need projection... unless of course you have the Nothelle setup with quad 7" lights  ;)

yes oliver, they are euro. you have the same setup as me except i think my fk inners are tinted. i have in.pro clear 7" lights and there is not a DOT marking so they are euro lights. plus they are h4 bulbs which was never an option on mk2 in the us. i've been searching for in.pro inners for quite some time now. i had them on my gti but i got into an accident and busted one. i've asked several companies that sell the in.pro 7" lights and one told me that in.pro doesn't make the inner lights anymore. i'm hoping to find at least one somewhere.

Yeah... they have the fluted glass and they have H4 in the middle of the glass.... I dont know about the Euro inners.... I thought they were all smooth glass with a projector style bulb housing.

They look good for the price, but I doubt they are hella lights... look a few rows above them, and you'll see OEM Hella lights that are US spec, and $117 each. If they get you where you want to be for $37 a pop... who cares? I'd buy them if I wanted ecode lights....

Last I heard Inpro doesn't make the inner lights.  I would bet if you threw up a WTB ad on Vortex you could find some

some updates, well not much. i cleaned it up good and used some leather dye on the black plastic. still need to do the spoiler, got tired of getting sunburned.

next project is replace strut bearings (upgrade to vr6) and find out why exhaust is rubbing. probably a broken hanger. then i'm going to try and get some paint.

on another note, finally replaced the stock tails on my mk4. got some tinted gti tails instead of orange. i also had to replace the sunroof. i don't know how it broke but it was in pieces the day before the big snow/rain. luckily it was only raining lightly when i drove to rs to replace it. they were nice enough to let me use the shop to put in the new glass. i also replaced the grille, the old one was broken at the vw symbol. every time i'd go to rs joel would re-orient the badge for me in a new position so i finally got a another one and painted it black. next up for it is the 337 side skirts which i've had forever. and yes, it needs to be lowered, but it's my wife's and she already complains about the front spoiler hitting. so i'll probably do h&r oe sport springs when i do shocks.

Got some new shoes...15x7 BBS RA's. I found a set of 5 locally. I'm thinking I'll refinish them BBS silver with polished lips. I do like the gray, but only two are that color, the other three are black with polished lips. Anyway, did some test fitting to see how they look and try to estimate what size spacer I'll need to clear the front G60 brakes. I'm thinking either 10mm or 15mm will do the trick.
