doesnt fit a 350 chevy so i'm out....lol.

not to threadjack, but Nate.... question, what would the benefits be for H2O/meth injection on a NA chevy 350? and on a 350 with a small 142 blower pushing 4-8psi max?

wouldn't bother using water/meth on an n/a sbc unless the compression was high enough to require race gas.  little mini blower would LOVE water/meth.  will allow you to run more boost and timing while still using pump gas.  blower will run cooler and last longer.  use a simple on/off system.

We've actually been seeing some really nice gains on NA V8s lately.  Lower than 9.5:1 might not be worth it, but the higher you go, the more benefit.  We've got a number of carbed street cars running 11-13:1 on pump gas and loving it.  Also, we have some 6.1L Hemis picking up over 40whp with the new Stage 3 systems (Razor's Edge Performance in FL).

More for Nate's info - Paul at Razor's was using a 375 on the 6.1NA and had an AFR of 10.8 - he thinks there is at least 10hp more left in it with trimming the fuel back.

Water/meth increases the effective octane rating of your fuel and cools your intake temperatures.  It reduces the chance of your engine blowing up, lol.  You can run more boost and more aggressive timing on pump gas because water/meth acts like 110+ octane.  Even if you don't increase boost or timing, you will still see moderate gains (~5-15hp) because of colder/denser air going into your cylinders (more air, you engine puts in more fuel, more fun  ;D).  Plus your ECU automatically detects knock and will try increase timing for more power on its own (correct me if I'm wrong).

If I had a 1.8T, I'd get one.  Doesn't do hardly crap for normally aspirated cars though.

as stated above on the technical side, but here is a another way to understand it. Take an Alcohol pad, or rubbing alcohol put it on your back of your hand and blow on it. You will feel how the air is cooled dramatically. When meth burns it burns cold. that's why people light the alcohol, and it doesn't burn them right away. So what you get is the water/meth is sprayed in not to the point it will flood or foul your car. As soon as it is spayed in, it automatically cools the incoming air (this is a good thing helps alot with heat soak) now the air is denser(sp) with meth/water, denser= more compression. once the meth/water/fuel lights meth burning cold, lowering or making more consistent cylinder temps. Having the temps inside the engine stay the same or lower helps a lot with heat soak. If you have 100tune on your ecu with pump gas and meth, it is like running 110octane, but understand it doesn’t feel like NOS. what you feel see is you can have multiple pulls and there is not lag, heat soak and more hp.  You can use different products, HEET fuel line antifreeze(little yellow bottle) is pure meth. You use it 1:1 ration. Majority of windshield wiper fluid that is -20 or more is meth. Look at the ingredients to be sure. Don’t sweat the dye. Oil, gas, has dye in it and it burns fine in the motor. The issue becomes a problem when you run a a higher mix 60/40 meth/water. This can lead to washing the oil off the cylinder heads. Not good. But just like driving your car you must put correct gas, fluids in your ride for it to last. Correct mix no issues. Everyone gets a bit scared putting something new or unsure of in the vehicle. Google the use of it has been around for a long time. It has been covered the last couple of issues in EC, ET too. Remember turbo's have recently become the wave for performance, it was originally set for fuel efficiency. My buddy Inferno schooled me on it, and I have been running it. Since the first time, it was like the first chip. I run a VAST meth/kit. It is basically a devils own rebadged. I like the controller the best out of all companies. my opinion. Devils own has a great DIY install guide, hell I am dumb and put it in about 1hr. 20 minutes just to find a way through the fire wall. Well I hope the bad spelling and ramblings doesn’t stir the grammar police. And helps a bit. I didn’t understand it either when I first heard about it, GL

Good analogy German Boy.

When I get big mods for my .:R, I'll be getting a water/meth kit.  You can run 100 octane chip files with 93 octane pump gas and washer fluid.

I have apr tune and run 100 tune with 93 pump or 91 plust meth. Most of the time I run 93 pump 93 tune and meth. VAST or Avalon should be able to do a custom tune for you. VAST made a custom pipe for my stock Intercoolers, incase you dont have a FMIC. No extra charge it is now part of there product line. Solid dudes at both places. I have a toggle set on the controller so I can turn the meth off when I want. For what it does for performance and safety 350 bucks was worth it. I have read soem reports of good not great gains on N/A. As far as the kit is straight forward. Just make sure you put the check valve close to where the nozzle is. This keeps when the boost builds from pushing back into the pump. My kit came with 2 nozzles, #4, #5. I am using #4. Sorry ahead of time if I thread jacked this. :P

...that once you start moddin you start breakin down...

Only sometimes. Sometimes we mod to fix, or improve on, things deemed too complex for the end user by engineers. W/M has been used by OEM manufacturers before, but they don't continue to use it because the average person would never remember to fill the reservoir up. Buick used it on their turbo charged v8 back in the early 60s. It was the only way they were able to turbo charge their 215 ci v8 with the 10:1 compression they used. It only lasted two years because nobody ever filled up the "Rocket Juice" container under the hood and, without modern engine controls, was causing Buick headaches with people running around with a high compression, boosted motor without intercooling.

Look at any car. Whether it's the manufacturer or an aftermarket company, every car has some type of fix that improves the functionality of the vehicle.
