It's time for me to pass on Old Bill to someone else. I don't need a fun toy at the moment, especially when I'm paying for an 08 GLI to sit in the driveway, and could use the money. Besides, ultimately I'd like a 16v GLI and it'd be kinda hard to give Bill 4 doors and a trunk. For those that don't know what "Old Bill" is, it's an 86 GTI that got its name from an etched buffalo in the back glass(Buffalo Bill). I fixed it up from a basket case a little over a year ago. It is an 86 so it's not perfect, but mechanically it is very sound. All of the leaks on the engine were sealed and a new clutch with AUG code close ratio transmission put in. CV joints were replaced as well as all 4 brake rotors and pads. It is a non-AC car that I added power steering to. It has a TT dual resonated exhaust with a Borla muffler. I have a dual outlet manifold and downpipe that goes with the car as well that I never got around to installing. It has a fresh diamond silver paint job that I did last year. I put in heated leather seats out of a mkIII, but they're not hooked up yet. The gauge cluster all works including the MFA. The sunroof was converted to a power unit from audi parts. It comes with 15" summer tires and some 14" steelies for winter use sitting on FK coilovers. It also has a bunch of misc MKII parts with it. I'm sure I'm forgetting a whole bunch of stuff, so just ask and I'll answer. I'm asking $1500.

Bill turned out pretty nice since you took her in..... hope she goes to a good home.

you know, this is colorado....an d if you need money, im sure if you picked up a VR6/tranny/misc parts from best foreign you could get 6000.00 more than the current asking price.

Yea, but that requires time, money, and hands that are up to the job. None of which I seem to have right now. If I don't get a reasonable price for it I'll just park it on a relative's property in the stix until I get some time, money, or some hands that consistently work.

Thanks for the complements guys. For a mid 80's car it is in damn good shape now, but it's not minty fresh condition. Here's a pic just so you all know how far this car has come.

I usually get about 31-32mpg. The highest I've had is 34 and the worst I've seen is 29.

Dan if you are serious you should pick this up. It is well worth every penny he is asking. I can vouch for this car. If it wasnt for getting my car painted i would be all over this.

Well my exploder is out of commission due to cooling issues, my DSM crankwalked (ACT2600), my jetta starts electrical fires, my STi likes to hit canyon walls (all in good fun)

These deserve to be defined as shitboxes, imo.

And no the STi is a very tastefully modded stock format car which is by no means even close to being a legit rally car HOWEVER it sure as hell gets the job done up in the mountains and on dirt, it will be showing up on Saturday, BTW if anyone has a DSLR with a wide angle I'd appreciate you bringing it Saturday if at all possible? =\
