Engine Firing Party

if all goes well (which it probably won't), i should have the 2 liter back in the gti and ready to fire up on saturday evening.  if those of you that actually make it to the gtg want to cruise down to my place and watch me throw shit and curse while i cram to get this piece of shit together feel free to come by with drinks or a grill or pizza or whatever.

here is what's going on:

- tranny now has peloquin 80% lsd shim kit installed
- new oil pan with oil return fitting installed
- new clutch is going on (tuesday)
- tranny is going on motor (tuesday)
- random tidbits going back on motor (tuesday)
- get motor in car (wednesday)
- figure out where everything goes again (wednesday)
- wrap up loose ends (wednesday + thursday)
- pray (friday)
- figure out what i forgot and thrash to get it done (saturday am)
- fire the bitch up (saturday pm)
- consume adult beverages (saturday pm)

for those of you who don't know about this project i basically built a turbo setup from scratch.  the only pre-made part i used was a kinetic turbo manifold.  the charge pipe, downpipe, and full exhaust were all hand made by me over many many days.  i'm running c2 software and should make about 200 whp @ 10 psi of boost.

basically this is a good opportunity for us to get together outside of the regular gtg and do something car related.  this is an open invite to all (non-719ers included) to stop by and see what's going on.  if you make it, cool... if you don't, eat shit and die.  ;-)

I'm thinkin we'll be there dude.  We are doing some work on the house this weekend (tearing out the old hot tub and going to the dump), but I'm sure by Saturday evening we will be ready for a break.

The outside slider is about two inches too far to the outside. I cut out about 2 inches and welded in a piece of flat stock to get it to where it needs to be.
